Ch-16 The High Wolves

|| KYAAAAA!

The loud voice reached our ears

|| What was that sound?
Master said

|| That seems to come from there

We ran toward the origin of the voice. I used [Search].

|| Master there are many beast 500m in front

As we got close I was surprised by what we saw in front of us. Many beasts were surrounding a carriage and there was a very strong smell of blood coming.

High wolves were surrounding the carriage. High wolves are stronger than the wild wolves we fought earlier.

|| Winch it seems that those beasts had killed some people there

|| Yes you are right. Al could be disturbing for you so you should stay here let me and Geneios handle them.

|| No teach I will also come

|| Okay

We ran toward the beasts. Even though wild wolves and high wolves are nearly the same. But high wolves are bigger and stronger than the wild wolves. Their reaction time is also fast.

High wolves had already sensed us and were now on guard. I used [dash] and similarly how I was doing before I tried using the momentum to slash the high wolf but it avoids the attack and suddenly attacked back with its claws. I used the [Dash] to get away from it and then attack it with [Wind Bullet]. Since I was at high speed my aim was off and it passed through its leg.

The bullet didn't harm it much but it was clear that the beast was very angry. It ran towards me and hit me on my chest. It was a very sudden attack, I was not able to avoid it. I impact with a nearby tree. I was saved because of the [Protection] enchantment in my armor but still, it damaged my ribs and it felt like some broke too.

I was going unconscious, I was not able t understand what was happening around me. I went unconscious, the thing I remember was the high wolf that was running towards me.

|| Huh, even though I told you not to push yourself very hard

who's there, who's a voice is this.

|| Well anyway I have healed most of the injuries.

I was only able to see pitch darkness and somewhere from this darkness, there was this voice I couldn't recognize.

|| Goodbye Alven, and again don't push yourself too hard okay.

The voice faded away in the darkness as I slowly gained consciousness

|| Al, are you okay

|| Yes... I'm fine

I was not able to see around me just heard the voice of master and teach and then I slowly my eyesight got better and I was shocked by seeing the area around me

The area around me was completely burnt. The high wolf was also missing

|| The high wolf... where.. is it?
I asked

|| Alven don't you remember. Just when the high wolf was about to attack you use fire magic to incinerate it and the area around you.

|| I... don't remember much what happened after I went unconscious

|| Well, everything is fine if you are okay.
Master said

|| But Al, you should call for help when you know that the high wolf is stronger

|| Sorry Teach

Then we searched the area for any more high wolves. There were no more high wolves.

Then we investigated the carriage. There was the corpse of two people outside the carriage. They were both beastmen.

|| It seems they are from wolf tribe.
Teach said

|| Yes, but what they were doing here.
Master said

|| Maybe they were going to the capital city

As they were investigating the corpse I went to investigate the inside of the carriage. There was nothing valuable in the carriage. Some silver coins, food, clothes, and cooking utensils. I was searching for the carriage when I saw a child-like figure. I thought that it was another corpse but when I looked carefully I noticed that this child is not dead but alive.

|| Master, Teach there is a survivor in the carriage
