Eddie couldn't help but doodle in science. It was just so humid and stiff and utterly boring. One couldn't help but wonder how even the brightest students could still pay attention to this crap.

Eddie was one of the brightest. He was smart, honest, but shy and sometimes, taken advantage of. Mainly by the Bowers gang, Patrick, Henry, belch, and victor. He was picked on constantly by them and often got his lunch money stolen from him, courtesy of Belch.

The brunette doodled bunnies, candy corn, and fall leaves, using his pencil as the golden colouring for the leaves. Eddie stretched his arms, tired, and glanced at the clock on the wall.

9.23 a.m

Eddie groaned and shifted in his stiff wooden chair.

Suddenly, Eddie felt a soft hit at side of his head. Possibly, Something small and light. It was only when the object rolled onto the table did Eddie know what it was.

A simple paper ball.

He made a grab for it and slowly unfurled it. Eddie loved mail. He loved letters, and he loved love letters. He thought it was so romantic that a bad boy would change all because of his love for a girl, because of that, he had hidden copies of magical and modern romances, rom-con and even just angsty drama.

Eddie Kaspbrak was a hopeless romantic.

He smoothed out the creases and folds, finally being able to read the note.

Hey Eds,
there's a party happening tonight at Greta Keenes house. Heard it'll be a killer. Wanna be my plus one? ;)
- Richie

Eddie smiled shyly and looked over towards Richie, who was glancing at the small boy and smiling back.

To Richie Tozier,
Yes i'll come! Meet you at 5?

Eddie wrote on the back of the paper neatly and threw it to Richie when the Mr Wren had turned his back. Richie caught it perfectly and smirked before scribbling something and tossing it back to Eddie.

Eds,
Sure. I'll pick you up at 5. it's a date ;)
-richie

It was a date.

Eddie beamed softly to himself when he read it. His heart swelling with a emotion he couldn't identify, one that made him feel warm inside.
