TWENTY-SIX: Turning Tables

"The next time you want to play hide and seek with her, make sure na hindi siya mapapahamak. Dahil sa susunod na may mangyaring masama sa kanya, ako mismo ang magtatago sayo sa lugar na hindi ka na niya makikita."

Marahas niyang binawi ang braso niyang hawak ko. "Don't put the blame on me. It's not like I'm the one who laid a finger on her."

"Yeah? But you're the reason she walk out that door and decide to play drunk which put her in danger."

"I'm not gonna take the blame for something I did not do! Bakit? Ako ba ang nagsabi sa kanya na lumabas at magpakalasing? Ni hindi ko nga alam na kasama natin siyang mag ba-bar eh. So stop telling me things na hindi ko naman ginawa."

"Then why did you agree on living with her on her apartment? You know that that's a bad idea even for you. Hindi mo ba alam na nakalabas na sa—"

"I know, okay?! Alam ko ang bagay na iyan kaya nga ako lumipat para may kasama siya. To make sure na hindi sila makakalapit sa kanya. Do you honestly think that I don't know that getting close with her again is a big risk? But it's a bigger risk if we just let her out there not knowing what's about to happen. We had an agreement, Gaia. All of us. That we will give it our all to protect our families. And this is me doing my protecting."

"Then think twice kung mas nakabubuti ba ang ginagawa mo ngayon o mas delikado. She may not know anything about the past pero sana huwag mo siyang bigyan ng bagong alaala ngayon na mas masakit pa kaysa sa nangyari noon. You are playing with her emotions."

"Am I now? Or baka gusto mo ring ipaalala ko na pati kayo ay nakiki-agaw na rin sa kanya ngayon? Do I need to tell that you guys started this four-way tug and war when it should have been me, ALONE? Kasi kung susumbatan mo lang din ako na pinaglalaruan ko siya, then what more of you guys?" She gave me her sarcastic smile na napalitan ng cold stare. "Don't try to talk me out of it kung ayaw niyong ilagay ko kayo sa dapat niyong kalalagyan."

Walang lingon lingon na umalis si Auburn sa harap ko leaving me speechless and astounded. I am always good at defending myself. May it be verbally or physically. But when it comes to my sisters, ewan ko ba kung bakit parang wala akong kalaban laban sa kanila. Especially Auburn. She can easily win an argument against us. Minsan iniisip ko nalang na kaya siya palagi ang may huling salita dahil siya ang panganay. But I know better. Dahil alam ko naman na may point si Auburn doon.

Pero hindi ako nag aral ng mabuti para umatras ng ganun ganun nalang. Dahil ang makakatalo lamang sa isa Romano, ay isa pang Romano.

Blythe's POV

Headache. SEVERE HEADACHE!

That's the first thing that registered in my mind the moment I wake up. Napasapo ako sa ulo ko nang maramdaman ang pagpintig niyon. Kasunod ay ang matinding pangangailangang sumuka.

I got up from bed only to drop face first on the floor because my head was still spinning like crazy. Literal na gumapang ako sa banyo. It took me forever to reach the toilet bowl and when I finally came face to face to the rim, I vomit my guts out.

Medyo naginhawaan ako matapos kong ilabas lahat ng sama ng tiyan ko kaya sinubukan kong muling tumayo. I held on to the sink beside me and helped myself up.

Nang sa wakas ay makatayo ako, I got a glimpse of my reflection in the mirror. I look like shit. I am now the perfect human form of hangover.

I washed my face to at least wash the remaining shit out of my hangover, though I doubt that washing my face will cure it instantly. When I did so, doon ko lang narealize na nasa loob ako ng banyo ko sa bahay namin sa Mirage. How on earth did I manage to come home after last night?
