The knife glided smoothly over the bitter as it collected the substance before I applied it to the toasted bread. I placed a dollop of tuna in the middle before spreading jt to the corners and putting two cucumbers and then finishing off with a buttered piece of bread on top. I placed the sand which on the plate alone with its other comrade before heading to the fridge and putting the ingredients away and grabbing the OJ

I looked at the kitchen clock which ticked 3:00 and as if on cue the door burst open and the patter of a pair of feet was heard approaching the kitchen before my legs were tackled by my 4 year old son, Kairo. I smiled down at him before ruffling his hair

"Bag and shoes before food" I said simply as he nodded and ran off to his room

I turned to pour the OJ before looking up to see Elom leaning against the door frame smiling at me.

"Thanks for picking him up today Elom" I sajd already knowing he was gonna complain
"No probs sis" he smiled grabbing a sandwich half
"That's Kairo's and you know how grumpy he gets when he doesn't get 4 halves in" I said putting a hand on my hip
"Well, he's your kid so you'll have to deal with it" Elom said with a mouth full of food
"I swear, I'm gonna mail him to you if he gets too much" I threatened

Before Elom could reply Kairo was already running back, he energetically climbed his chair before grabbing a sandwich and chomping it down

"Hey hey, calm down there. The foods not going anywhere" I laughed
"I'm sowi ma, Kairo is Just excited" Kairo said
"Well why is Kai Kai so excited" I asked
"Ms Patterson is plegnan" Kairo said with a toothy smile
"Oh is it?" I said giggling at his mispronunciations

As Kairo went back to eating Zion came in, followed by the rest of the band as they all set their things down and made their way to the kitchen

"Daddy!" Kairo smiled
"Hey there little man" Zion smiled ruffling Kairo's curls "princess" Zion smiled giving me a kiss on the cheek
"Daddy Ma Patterson is plegnan" Kairo yelled
"Well congratulations to her" Zion smiled
"Daddy, where do babies come from?" Kairo asked making my eyes widen

As much as Zion was an excellent father there were times when his parenting methods were questionable. So you could understand why I was a little uneasy about Zion answering this life altering question. Zion clearing his throat brought me back to reality

"Easy lil man, Amazon" Zion answered confidently
