Since the news Austin hasn't been the same. He's taken on Y/N's old habits. He's began drinking excessively mostly to drown his demons but his demons had now learnt how to swim, he has taken upon himself the task to blow up Y/N's phone, as if she would return his calls. He was a mess to say the least, stuff visible on his face, he was sluggish at work and said little to no words on a daily which worried his friends because normally he was a talkative person. This took a toll also on Rachel, she had lost her husband in the midst of all the chaos.

"Yeah, he's upstairs getting ready" Rachel said through the phone to Brandon, one of Austin's colleges
"How are you feeling?" Brandon asked

Rachel sighed, she hadn't been asked that question in a while and in all honesty she didn't know how to answer, losing Austin was hard because she now had to deal with raising her daughter as though a single parent although she wasn't.

"I don't know" she answered truthfully
"Oh come on Rachel" Brandon encourages
"Do you want the truth?" She asked
"I want nothing less" Brandon said
"Honestly even dead Y/N is ruining my life" she answered truthfully
"What?" A voice said

Rachel turned to see a very dapperly dressed Austin. It had been a while since she had seen him dress so formally so she had to drink in the Look before snapping herself back to the reality of the situation. She quickly said her goodbyes to Brandon before hanging up and walking towards her daughter who sat in her high chair eating peaches

"What did you just say" Austin asked more demandingly
"You heard what I said" Rachel answered carelessly
"I kinda hopped that wasn't what I heard" Austin said
"Well you heard it and I'm not taking it back" Rachel said returning to her daughter
"Rachel that is no way to speak about the dead!" Austin said slamming his hands on the counter startling both girls
"You want the truth Austin?" Rachel asked not skipping a beat "even dead that alcoholic bitch is ruining my li-

Not allowing her to finish Austin's hand cocked back, connecting with her cheek causing a stinging feeling to arise in Rachel's cheek. She looked back at Austin in horror, his cheek heaved, hair a mess as he took heavy breaths

"Don't ever talk about her like that again"
