Only the Avatar mastered all five elements. Only he could stop the ruthless Firebenders. But when the world needed him most, he vanished. 100 years had passed, and the Fire Nation was nearing victory in the war. Some people believe that the Avatar wasn't reborn into the Air Nomads, and the cycle had broken. But others didn't lose hope. They believed that somehow, the Avatar would return to save the world.
