chapter 3

My POV

Johnny stared at me and slightly waved back at me. I thought it got awkward, so I turned to Darry and pulled him down to my height. 

"I am going to change into some type of presentable clothing. What do I do after that?" 

"Meet me outside your room. I am going to change into my work clothes too." 

I nod and walk into my room. I turn on the radio and my favorite song comes in. I forget that there are extra people in the house, so I start singing along. I change into cut-off short jeans and a black crop top. I brush my hair and put it in a low ponytail again. I open my door and step out just to see Johnny standing against the wall. 

"You have a beautiful voice." 

"Oh I forgot you guys were here." 

"It's fine. Your voice is amazing." 

"It is?" 

"Yeah. By the way, Darry got an urgent call to work, so he wanted me to hang out with you today and introduce you to the rest of the gang." 

"Okay." 

I didn't mind that Darry had me hang out with him all day. He was really cute, and he was different from other guys I've met as well. He seemed to have more feelings than most other guys. My last boyfriend I had used me just top become friends with Dallas. He ended up getting beat up by Dallas rather than becoming friends with him. It wasn't a pretty fight either. That kid was only 13 when Dally beat him up, and he is still scared of the whole gang. Johnny took me down to meet Two-bit and Steve. After we got introduced, Johnny and I went walking around for a while. He took me to this food place called The Dingo where we got cokes and burgers. We then went to this hill and sat at the top of it beside each other. 

"Have you ever seen a sunset?" He asked. 

"No. Pony has told me to look for one, but I have never gotten to it." 

"Well then here. There's a sunset coming down now." 

He pointed to the sky and we just sat there staring at the sky. 

"Dally, Pony, and I might be going to the Nightly Double. If we do, would you like to come with me?" 

"Sure." 

We just sat there staring at the sky watching the sunset after that until I felt his hand move over to mine. I looked over at him, and he moved away in embarrassment. I grabbed his hand again and held it. He turned and smiled at me. What happened next shocked both he and I. He.....
