Running Out Of Time

Chapter 3

Sirius is NOT related to Narcissa Malfoy, but good friends with her for the sake of this story.

Summer 2017

"Ginny, we will get your son back." Hermione hugged the red head.

"I know you will Hermione." Ginny smiled. "Now get going, I can manage here."

Harry and Hermione turned towards the fireplace, and disappeared. The two appeared in a spacious living room.

"Where is he?!" Harry bellowed impatiently.

"Harry! Give Dad a break, will you? Its 6 30. He could be out on a date." Hermione sighed.

"Damn charm of his." Harry grumbled.

"Harry if it wasnt for his charm, i wouldnt be here." Hermione scolded.

"I only meant when his charm stopped him from coming home, thats all." Harry sighed and went to pour himself some firewhisky.

Moments later, the door opened and in came Sirius Black with a smile on his face.

"Dad!" Harry and Hermione said in unison.

Sirius saw his kids and his smile got bigger. "This is a surprise!"

"Im sorry to drop in Dad, but its urgent." Hermione cut in.

Sirius frowned slightly. "Go on."

"Its James. Hes lost in time!" Harry blurted out.

"Ok, how about you slow down Pup and start from the beginning?" Sirius gestured for the pair to sit on one of the couches.

After Hermione and Harry told Sirius what had happened, the mans frown deepened. "Harry, did you lock your office before going out tonight?"

Harrys eyes flew to the floor, and mumbled something."

"Please speak up." Sirius asked.

"He didnt. Sorry Harry. When I got there, the door was ajar and I caught James fiddling with that time turner we confiscated earlier today!" Hermione huffed.

Sirius sighed deeply. "Harry, it was a mistake. Parents are allowed to make them."

"Dad, what am I to do? Knowing James, he has the genes of you, me, and Prongs in his blood. He could screw up everything!" Harry yelled.

"I dont think thats likely." Sirius said quietly. "The lad does have a track record, but he can be bloody brilliant."

"No doubt about that. We need to figure out when he is." Hermione stated. "Before we can swoop in and rescue him."

"But how?"

"I have an idea." Sirius smiled.

Summer 1994

James was watching Harry and Sirius' interactions closely. He was told that Sirius had offically adopted Harry after the boy was attacked by dementors. But so far, James didnt see any father son interactions.

"Hugo, do you like pranks?" One of the Weasley twins asked him after dinner.

James wanted so bad to join in. But, he couldnt afford to slip up. He knew Harry would put the pieces together like he always did. "Sorry, Id rather do some reading."

The twins shrugged and left the strange boy alone.

"Hugo?" A voice asked
