"Look at her.. she was hungry!" Jessica smiles down to the baby as she eats.
"She was! Look at her little eyes!" Sam chuckles.
"She's so perfect!"
"She is.."
Sam kissed Evangeline's head, then Jessica's.
"Sam?" Jessica looks up.
"Yeah?"
"Are you nervous?"
"About what?"
"The test."
"No.. because no matter what, she's mine, and I love her. Besides, I'm pretty confident she's mine."
"Did you know all along?"
"Yes! When you told me you were pregnant I was like, It's mine! How do I get my baby away from Danny?"
"Aw." Jessica pouts.
"And then I just asked because I thought you knew but were afraid of how my reaction would be. But you were all snappy and said, No!"
"I'm sorry!" Jessica laughs.
"It's okay." Sam smiles softly.
"I still knew I was right. Then I'd feel her move and I noticed she had my rhythm so—" Sam shrugs.
"Another point for Shepard!"
"Oh jeez." Jessica chuckles.
"What? You know I have moves."
Jessica laughs. "Oh you have moves." She chuckles.
"I do! So that's it, she's mine."
"Heh! Well.. Either way this is really scary.."
"Why?"
"Well if she's not yours and Danny's her father.. he wants nothing to do with her, and she doesn't deserve that.."
"But she'll have us! She won't need Danny, baby."
"I know.. and if she is yours, I'm the bad one."
"Why would that make you the bad one?"
"Everyone will know that I cheated on him."
"So? Jessica, he abandoned you while you were pregnant! He has two kids with this other woman!"
Jessica looks at Sam and her bottom lip quivers.
"Aw baby, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to upset you!" Sam places his hand on Jessica's arm.
"It's okay.. I know I slept with you but.. he has a complete separate family, Sam! I just can't believe he would do that to me.."
"I'm sorry.. you I don't deserve to be treated that way."
Jessica looks up to Sam and he wipes her tears.
"Don't worry about him. We have a new baby here, and four waiting for us at home."
Jessica smiles softly. "I love you, Sammy."
"I love you too, Button."
Jessica giggles and scrunches her nose.
Sam kisses it, then kisses her lips.
After their kiss they look down to the baby.
"Look at her lookin at us." Jessica chuckles.
"She's so alert!"
"She is! Wow.. those eyes."
"She's a cutie for sure." She chuckles.
"She sure is.. is that milk good, baby?" Jessica asks just before Evangeline makes cute little baby noises.
