"Y/n, Dele! Dinner is done!" your mother shouts from the bottom of the stairs.

You'd been sitting in your room, playing your Xbox, determined to beat the Call of duty game your parents had bought you for Christmas that year. You threw the game controller across your bed as you stood, rushing out of your room and slipping past your older brother, Dele.

"Y/n, watch it!", Dele shouts angrily as he had lost his balance and staggered to regain it. Laughing, you stick your tongue out at the tall angry teen, running down the stairs in an attempt to beat him to the dinner table.

This lead to two picture frames being knocked off the wall, a broken vase, and you falling out of your usual seat beside Dele onto the floor. Your dad gave you both a look of disappointment and a shake of his head.

You and your brother laughed as your mom looked at the two of you, fury in her eyes. The laughter died down and you were quick to speak up in a squeaky manner, "Dele started it." Dele shouts at you and kicks you underneath the table.

You and your brother had an awesome relationship, and had always been very close, as you two were merely a year apart from one another. Sharing the same taste in sports, movies, hobbies and the like. It was easy to talk to Dele a bout anything. Really you two acted like two best friends rather than brother and sister.

Shaking her head and gesturing you two to make your plates, your mom spoke up, "You both are too old to be acting like that."

You look to Dele with a goofy look on your face as he holds back laughter by piercing his lips together in a thin line.

As you all start eating, you hear someone clear their throat.

"So, Y/n, who's shirt do you have on? Looks a little too big for you." your dad asked, causing you to look down at the black oversized Football shirt that you wore at the dinner table.

Shrugging, you grab your cleared plate and head towards the kitchen, "It's Jesse's, he let me borrow it."

"I had a hunch you two were dating. That's nice."

Before you could get to the sink you nearly drop the plate due to the sentence shocking the hell out of you. With a red face you snap your head around to look at your dad who had a small smile painted on his face. Dele had stopped eating, as he began to choke on his food.

"What makes you think that means we are dating?!"

The room falls silent as you groan, stomping past the dinner table embarrassed. It was plain as day to tell that you had a crush on your friend. 'But why would he fell the same?' You think to yourself, climbing the stair towards your bedroom, 'I'm just his weird friend.'

Sitting at your desk, writing in your journal you heard a soft knock at your closed door.

"Leave me alone!" You shout, figuring it was your mom.

"But I brought your favorite candy!" It took a moment before Jesse opened the door and popped his head in, causing you to slam your journal shut.

"Oh, hey", you say as your cheeks heat up, trying to cover your face with your hair.

He walks in and shuts the door behind him, tossing the candy to you before he takes a seat on the edge of your bed.

"I heard about the dinner blowout." Jesse deadpans as you retreat from digging into your sweets, looking at him.
