“Am I wrong?” I question. I would be surprised if I was, but they have not said anything.
“No, you're right… and you're telling the truth. You really are human. You're… impossible, yet you exist. What about when you said mother and father?” Iris asks.
“Simple. They worked at New Age. My father murdered my three best friends, and My mother murdered the man I loved. They're dead now, every doctor, scientist, and experiment from New Age is dead. The scientists and doctors killed all the experiments, my friends, and I killed every single worker there. Even the building no longer exists,” I explain to the group.
“You're just… wow. And I thought we kidnapped a simple human and her friends. No wonder you were so sure of your escape,” Jet muses.
“Yes. Now, we should probably get moving,” I say, and stand myself up with the support of the wall.
“Woah, woah, woah,” Jett says, and picks me up before I fall back down.
“Thank you,” I say to him, though I hate needing help, and turn to the others.
“Why didn't you want Nathan?” Ivy asks.
“I could tell the bond was separate, that the feelings were not real. I did not like him. He was rude and impulsive, but most of all inconsiderate. He also kidnapped my friends for no reason,” I explain. “Also, I had just recently lost everyone I ever knew, along with someone I loved with all my heart. I had no one, and wanted no one, to love anyways,” I continue, furthering the others understanding of my past situation.
“Can we talk to her about something?” Ivy asks.
“Sure,” Jett says, before handing me to Ivy who has no trouble holding me with her vampire strength.
We slowly stroll forward while the others walk ahead. Iris then says some weird words, and they turn to face me as best they can while Ivy holds me. I gain the information that they made it so others could not hear us speak, and almost smile at their cleverness but stop myself. This must be serious.
“What,” I say, looking at the two faces whose eyes bore into mine.
“Are you sure you're not a witch, a supernatural of any kind?” Ivy asks.
“Of course, and you can tell that as well. If is one of the positive things about being both vampire and witch,” I respond.
“Well, we just wanted to say what you described sounds like some sort of enchantment. We have never seen it though, and it is very powerful. Only a very old witch could do it, and all of them are supposed to be dead. Did you have something done to you by a witch?” Ivy asks.
“No witch has done anything to me, exempting you two right now,” I respond, technically telling the truth.
“Alright, then that's all we wanted to talk to you about” Ivy says, about to allow others to hear us again.
“Wait,” I say, having gained information, “You are not coming to the new pack, why not?” I ask.
“We assumed you would be taking them to a pack, and we don't like packs. Even if the alphas were to accept us others wouldn't. We have some things of our own to do, some people to meet and some things to get sorted. Thank you anyways,” Iris says.
I give them a small smile before they leave, giving me to Jett to be carried.
I really do not like being carried. It is quite annoying, and I would much rather walk on my own but know I currently am unable. I would probably fall and further my injuries if I did.
“You do not have to come, but we are going to another pack. We need to make sure we are all safe. I also have friends there. We have an extra two rooms, and a couch, if you would like to stay in our house while you get settled,” I offer Ryker, Jett, and Amanda.
“We might,” Ryder responds.
“Why didn't the twins come?” Jett asks, confused.
“They have some important business to take care of,” I state, thinking of the feeling I gained from them
Together, they are a formidable force, but they are in grave danger. I think they know that as well, and that must be part of the reason they did not wish to come with us. I do hope they are alright.
“You know something, don't you?” Jett asks, seeing through my vague comment.
“She always knows something,” Ryker adds, looking to me as if asking me to explain to them everything I know.
That is not going to happen. Information is power, and I still do not completely trust anyone. I trust Mor and Archer partially, but I still sometimes feel as if they could turn on me. I do not trust people.
That gets people killed.
“They did not want to come. That is all I have to say,” I respond, and they seem to know I will not see anything else. “Go two miles south, a half mile east, and wake me when we are there. You do not want to startle the patrols and get attacked,” I instruct.
“What're you gonna do?” Ryker asks.
“Sleep. I need to heal,” I say and close my eyes.
I drift off peacefully in Jetts arms, ready for whatever comes next.
