"Go get a shower, babe," Charlie kisses Summer's bare shoulder as she sits up on his bed. He had called her over earlier that night with the idea that they were gonna go on a date for the first time in a while.

But, of course, he wanted sex after a movie night in at his house.

Charlie was her first and maybe that's why she was stuck with him, she could never see wrong. He had been the first guy she'd slept with and, although it wasn't great, she thought that was how it was meant to be.

At first he would shower her with gifts, telling her sweet compliments that he'd read online to get a girl. She felt seen and she felt loved as she had flowers on their first date, and a kiss goodbye every time they saw each other.

After a month of talking, he eventually invited her around to his apartment and it wasn't long before he'd gotten her into bed and they'd had sex. She was naive and thought that he wanted to make love, but it wasn't long before he was laying on his back out of breath, sweaty. She ended up seeing herself out after he fell asleep, and she didn't want to overstay her welcome.

It took two days before he text her again, and he apologised saying he was busy with work. She believed him, and it only took a couple of months before he begrudgingly asked her to be his girlfriend to put her mind at rest. Any thoughts of him using her had dissipated and she thought that he loved her.

"Yeah," she says with a small sigh, feeling gross as she gets up off of the bed and makes her way into his bathroom and showering. Once she was clean, she turned the shower off and made her way back into Charlie's bedroom to grab her clothes.

Unfortunately, this time she didn't have any spare pants with her so she was stuck without any underwear on underneath her skirt. She didn't want to put the dirty underwear on, so she would have to deal with no underwear. It was only a fifteen minute walk, but maybe Charlie would give her a ride home.

She puts on her baby blue shirt, walking into the kitchen with her socks and shoes on, grabbing her coat.

"Can I get a ride home?" She asks, glancing over to Charlie as she puts her arms through her coat's sleeves. She notices him opening up a can of beer and she purses her lips before exhaling deeply. "Never mind, I'll just walk."

He burps, covering his mouth a moment too late. "Okay, babe. Text me when you're home."

"Yeah, I will," she smiles before walking out of his apartment, her hands stuffed into her coat pockets.

As she closed the door and let out a small sigh, she turns around and sees Brad, the boy from the party, stepping out of the adjacent apartment and locking the door.

The last time she saw him was well over a week ago in the very same building, but she didn't realise how close he lived to her boyfriend. They were practically neighbours.

He looks over, doing a double take as he realises who it is. He grins at her as she gives him an awkward smile.

"Hey, Peaches," he says to her. "You alright?"

"Yeah," she nods. "Are you?"

She's too nice, he thought. Always so sweet.

"I'm great," he grins, walking beside her down the hallway. "Where you going?"

"Just going home," she replied politely. She was uneasy around Brad, and she wasn't sure if it was because of his attractiveness or because her boyfriend was only down the hallway from them.

"You were at your boyfriend's again?" He asked, leaning into the small talk.

"Yeah, but I need to go back home," she said. "I've been neglecting my chores."
