Aftermath

Araya

GOING back home was scary. Akiya didn't trust them so he drove Storm back before going home in silence. His eyes were like storms; dark and brooding. Ever since the encounter with the nogistunes back in the store and it was quite frightening.

Being so close to them. It was both terrifying and thrilling in it's own way. They were so otherworldly, attractive and dark. Akiya on the other hand was livid and had to keep his calm as they were so much older than us, but honestly they didn't look it.

They looked to be in their late teens early twenties. But something about their posture and they carried themselves said they were so much older than that. All I could do was stand there paralyzed unable to move. I was rooted in fear and awe at them being so close to us.

Storm was poised to attack ready to tear them to shreds if given the initiative. The shop owner had been fine and woke up once the nogistunes had left. They had a been bit puzzled but we simply smiled and thanked them for the food and got the typical sweet thank you that they gave out to their customers.

And then we left and Akiya drove like a bat out of hell. The look on Akiya's face was irritation, severe irritation at what had taken back at the market. And he was silent and brooding.

"He was flirting with you."

I looked at Akiya. "Who?" I asked. "Daiki, he was flirting with you. And it infuriates me that he even thought of doing that after what he did to mom." Akiya spoke. As much as I wanted to defend him the words never left my lips knowing how angry Akiya was.

The ride was quiet as he drove us back to our house. The door slammed behind us as Akiya stormed into the kitchen to make the food. The slamming of the door awoke our mom who was up and hissing as she grabbed for the katana that she slept with recently.

"Hey it's ok mom it's just Akiya and I." I said and she let go of the katana. "What'd you buy?" Mom asked. "Yakisoba chicken." I said sitting down with her with a smile on my face. She smiled at me before resting back as I looked back at the stab wounds.

She most of really have pissed them off and the thought of my mom killing terrified me. Knowing blood may be on those hands, a nogitsune but still a person. The blood on the katana made so much sense, maybe that's why there were three there instead of five like at the barn.

Or were there more than those five? That thought terrified me. Sure they were quite entrapping but I didn't want to have to fight them. I wasn't a fighter. It took about fifteen minutes for Akiya to have the yakisoba done and it looked so good to be honest.

Akiya handed us the plates and sat down next to me looking quite pissed. But he still ate his food no less. Which was good to see that he didn't care not to eat the food. He ate it with a frown on his face. But at least he still ate his food.

"What's the matter Akiya?" Mom asked looking over at him and he looked over at her. His eyes were gloomy as he sighed and the both of us locked eyes. I liked to believe we could communicate between simple looks, it had been something we had done since we were kids.

I nodded. "We saw the nogistunes." Akiya said and my mom's fork dropped on the plate. "Did they hurt you?" Mom asked going quite stiff as the protective mom kicked in. My mom was quiet and kind until it came to the two of them. It was a reason she had no idea of Akiya being bullied.

"No. They actually just talked to us." I answered for Akiya and my mom looked a bit worried about that. "What did they saw?" Mom asked almost instantly after I spoke startling both Akiya and I as we both shared a look at that.
