I asked Jack what he did today, and I could barely hear. He wore one of those masks things so he didn't catch what I had. Talking to him was like a war in my head. It seemed to alleviate those bad thoughts, but they still crawled. For a moment everything I was feeling went away and was replaced by warmth when he called me baby. He looked so happy to be able to talk to me about my day. We haven't seen one another for three days, and his happiness alone wiped away all the negative thoughts about him just throwing me a pity party. He seemed truly ecstatic to see me, and he looked like a kid on Christmas. Before he left he kissed me, he couldn't touch me in case he got sick, but he kissed me through his mask.
