"Alex...Alex...Alexandria!" I woke up with a jolt as my mother plodded into my room. "Hmm?!" I replied, still half asleep. "You need to get ready for school." "Oh, yeah...that". "Yes, That!" I sighed and began to get out of bed as my mum walked out the room.

I clambered off my bed and stretched. I turned and walked over to my window, opening my blue curtains. Today would be a new day, and a new beginning. No more...trouble...At least I hope not, anyway. Well, either way I was going to have to go to school whoever I liked it or not. You see, there had been some problems in the past. The fact that my hair was naturally a light blue didn't exactly help the fact that I was kicked out. That was only small compared to what happened.

Stepping into the bathroom, I splashed my face with water. It's cold trickle pleasantly running down my face. I stared up into the mirror.

Another think that kind of made me look like a freak was my eyes. They were a pale blue, perfectly matching my straight, shoulder length hair.

There were many things that made me an outcast from the rest. My love for the cold...snow and ice. Winter by far my favourite season. I would stand out in the snow in my t-shirt when I was little. I've learnt from that lesson now. Not only did I get strange looks from my friends and strangers, but the teachers were furious. Obviously I won't be starting that again.

I slipped on my uniform and headed downstairs. I saw mum sitting on a chair reading and stepped into the kitchen. So why was I kicked out of school? One day it was snowing and we all had to go out in it. Of course I didn't mind but I can't say the same for everyone else. Either way we were outside when this girl comes up to me. At first I thought that she would have some snide remark to say, but I was wrong.

[flashback begins]

"Hey. Your in my science aren't you? Alex isn't it?" I nodded "Well, was the homework in for today?" Now I know what your thinking here. It may not be a nasty comment, but it's not exactly nice. But no-one had ever come up to me before. I mean, there's obviously other people in our science class.

"Umm, no I think it was for next Monday..." I was completely clueless on what to say. We stood there in an awkward silence and she spoke again. "I'm daisy. It's good to properly meet you." She smiled a hopeful smile. I was just astounded that she wanted to be friends with me. "Oh, I'm Alex, and it's great to meet you too." I smiled back and we began to talk. Just like that, something clicked and we soon became really great friends.

I felt like I was back at primary school. But I loved every second of it. How was it that we could become best friends just like that?! I would have assumed it was impossible until It truly had happened. And it had truly happened.

A couple of weeks past by and it was almost Christmas. I was so surprised at the amount of snow that we had, had and that made me even more excited. Lunch began, and me and daisy were outside in the snow. I declared a snowball fight and we began to hunt each other down. Lots of other people were giving us strange looks. But the great thing about being so immature is the fact that you don't care about other people. I mean, at 14 you'd expect something a little better, but who cares.

We began to get close to the edge of the field and there were trees covered in snow above us. Yet we still ignored everything and were blissfully unaware of the misery that was soon to come.

I launched a snowball at Daisy but she skilfully dodged it and it hit the tree instead. Nothing happened but it began to snow again and I felt a sudden surge of energy pulse through me. My heart steadily beating inside me as I picked up another clump of snow and catapulted it towards daisy. But It was a clear miss and smashed against the tree. It began to shake and daisy tripped and the snow plopped onto her head.

We both burst out laughing as she began to clamber off the ground. She started to wipe some of the snow off of her clothes, but it was already too late to move. In less than a second the tree began to sway and it crashed to the floor. It landed on top of Daisy with a thud, and the laughing changed to a deadly scream.

Silence prevailed...

I screeched and sprinted towards her. Of what I could see, her body looked mangled and broken but I just couldn't let that happen. Hot tears began to crawl down my face. Each one burning into my skin as I frantically tried to scrap the snow out of the way. It was no use and soon there was a crowd of people surrounding me. Anyone could clearly see that this was an accident but not everyone could clearly see.

"What did you do!?!" Cried a boy, a year younger than me. "NOTHING!" I screeched as I got back to trying to free her. Tears continuously running down my face. Dig, dig...I have to...I...just do...

I stopped and froze. My heart beating fast. Maybe it was my fault. I murdered my best friend...

[end of flashback]

So as you can guess the school had to get rid of me. Of course they didn't believe that I had killed her, but it was all too much for them and they just kicked me out. It took me a while to get over it and although I now realise it wasn't murder...It was still man slaughter. Accidental, but I was still their...I witnessed the whole thing.

"Hurry up and get in the car already" Mum cried as I wolfed down the last scraps of my breakfast. I hobbled into the car and we drove off towards my new school...my second secondary school...hell hole number 2...
