Seeing as I had severaly people liking and adding this story to their library, I decided to upload the next part, even though it's been a year since I last uploaded XD Therefore, this is dedicated to all the people that added this to their library, or voted or commented on it, and encouraged me to write the next chapter :3
So here it is ^^ Chapter 3 of The Element Within
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will still freaked out by the sign on the door, but, despite my uncertainty, I boldly stepped into the room. I was amazed as I was greeted by yet more people with my hair colour. Unless this was all a crazy dream, or I was on some kind of TV prank show, there was something seriously wrong with this school.
The room was comfortable but practical. Several leather chairs were littered about the room and there were a few desks and bookshelves around the edges.
Most of them were sitting around and hadn’t even seemed to acknowledge my existence. There were a few people that briefly turned their heads to see who had entered but once they had examined me they casually went back to whatever they were doing. It was weird, because I’d always imagined that if I ever came to a new school, people would be all over me. They would want to know all about you; your favourite colour, favourite animal, how you do your hair, where you buy your clothes, just absolutely everything you could think of. In fact, I was so sure of this that it came as a real surprise to me when they didn’t take any notice of me.
Carefully I continued to follow Lilly down the middle of the room and once we had reached the very front, she sat down and a small leather sofa beckoning me to join her. I sat myself down and waited for her to explain just what in the hell was going on.
“So” she began “As you’ve probably figured out, this isn’t a, well, normal school.”
“Well, yeah...but I’m not sure, well, why?”
“I’m not really sure how to say this but...” She hesitated, as I leant on the edge of my seat, waiting intently for a reply. “But, this is a school for, different people.”
Unsure of how to react to that, rather than bombarding her with some kind of sarcastic comment about how my mum already told her that it was a school for “special” people, I decided to keep my mouth shut.
“This is a school for people with a gift, a school for people with powers.”
She stared at me and waited for some kind of response, but I sat there taking the whole thing in.
“And, the gift that all of us in the school posses is the gift to, urm, control a particular element...”
For a few seconds I sat there, not really realising or understanding any of what she said, and then...
“WHAT?!” I exclaimed “Are you serious? Are you really, truly telling me that I can control one of the four elements?”
“Well actually,” Lilly calmly explained “There are more than four. Officially, yes there are believed to be only four basic elements. However, there are actually eight houses, one for each element, as it were.”
“Tha-tha-that doesn’t matter!” I stuttered in disbelief “I can control one of the elements?!”
“Yep.” She simply answered.
I sat there, completely unsure if this was a dream, or just me going crazy. But at the same time, I completely believed every word she said. Maybe I believed her because she sounded so convincing, or maybe it was just because it actually made sense. The day that Daisy...well, I don’t even want to think about it, but when the accident happened, I had felt an immense amount of energy pulse through me. I had felt the cold and the snow give me that power...the power to sway that tree...
I shook my head and shuddered at the horrible thought. Then I swallowed a small lump in my throat and nodded to show her I understood.
“So, there are the four usual elements” she continued to explain “Fire, water, earth and air. However, there are four others; ice, light, dark and creature. This is the ice house, and that’s why we all have the same unusual hair colour. Not too weird for you yet?”
“No actually...” I coolly replied “It makes so much sense when I think about it...”
“Good. That means that we can actually get onto the interesting things. So, first things first, stay away from the red heads.”
I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at the advice. Lilly too let out a small giggle and continued.
“Anyone with orange or read hair belongs in the fire house, and I can tell you, fire and ice really don’t mix.”
“I always thought that was fire and water?”
“Actually it’s both.” She explained “So just steer clear of them, all of them are complete hot heads and some of them will literally pick a fight with you just for being and ice. Ok, then there’s water. Mark’s in water and it generally goes without saying that water is one of the friendliest houses. Nearly all of the houses get on well with water, and it should be easy for you to make some friends in there.
“Then there’s air, definitely the most popular house, but not because they try to be popular or anything like that. They just have a certain charm about them and well, everyone seems to get on ok with them, even fire students. Earth students can really depend on who you’re talking too, as do creature, and those two are probably the most varied houses, personality wise.
“And finally, there’s light and dark. Two completely opposite houses, and although competition between them is very tense, they don’t necessarily hate each other, but that doesn’t mean that they all get on. Light students are generally very kind and sweet and dark students are much more sort of Goth or emo. But you will get people with either dark strips in their hair, or light strips in their hair...but that’s really rare and you don’t really need to know about that.
“So, what do you think? Has it all sunk in yet...It took me a week to get used to the idea when I first came here.”
I sat there silently digesting all that she had just said to me, but I think I got it all down and made a couple of mental notes in my head, mainly consisting of;
‘Fire = bad
Water and air = good
Earth and creature = whatever
Light = fine
And
Dark = probably not...’
After letting everything sink properly in I replied to Lilly with a smile.
“Yeah, I think I’ve got everything just fine.”
“Ok that’s great!” She beamed “Now I can show you around the rest of the scho-“
However, before Lilly could even finish her sentence the door was swung open and a bald man with glasses cried out to the class in a panicked voice.
“Students! Please remain in your common room. There has been a fight and one of the water students has been severely hurt.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope all you guys liked that!
And I would really love to know what you thought of that, and what house you think you would be in... A sweet and innocent student from Light. A gothic and mysterious person from Dark. A friendly and relaxed student from water. A brave adn hot-headed Fire student. A charming and graceful Air student Whoever you want to be from earth or creature, or maybe a smart and cool student from Ice!
:D You've got quite a selection, but if you don't like the element, then pick the personality and if you don't like the personality then pick the house for the element ^^
I personally am in water :3
