Lilly stared at me in horror, “Alex, please stay here. I have to find out who was hurt!”

I frowned at her in disapproval and irritation, “No way! I’m coming with you!”

“Alex, please! I don’t want you getting in trouble on your first day here!”

“Oh please.” I smoothly replied “Like I can’t handle a little bit of conflict. I mean, come on, I’ve already accepted our, urm, powers.”

She bit her lip, trying to figure out whether or not to allow me to follow her. Eventually she reached her verdict, “Fine. But we need to be quick. Follow me.”

As I began to head out of the door at the back of the classroom I briefly glanced round. However, to my surprise the room was almost silent and everyone seemed too concerned with their own affairs that they didn’t bat an eyelid when Lilly and I simply marched out of the room.

“Lilly?” I questioned “How come none of them seemed interested in the fight?”

“Hmm? Oh them! Well, it goes without saying that most of the ice students come off very cold towards, well, everyone out of their small friendship circle. I mean, stereotypes have got to come from somewhere, haven’t they?”

I pondered the idea for a while but just as I was about to ask her why me and her weren’t like that, I realised just how incredible the school was. I marvelled at the grand stone walls that surrounded then long corridors. It was amazing as to just how tall they were; towering over me and Lilly like a mammoth. I was so captivated by the chandeliers that dangled from the ceiling, illuminating the roof. I was so enchanted by the beautiful stained glass windows that plastered the walls of the wide, corridor.

However, in all of my amazement I didn’t notice that Lilly was no longer in front of me. Nor did I see that I was actually about to reach a corner and if I continued forwards I would most probably end up walking right into the nearing wall. However, the last, and most important thing that I was unable to spot, was the tall, orange haired boy that was rapidly moving closer to me.

As soon as I had looked down to notice all these things however, it was far too late. Then, as quickly as you could say; “Oh crud! Looks like I’m about to run into someone!” (Which, is ironically, not very quick at all) I collided with the red head and fell backwards onto the floor.

I cried out in reaction to the fall and I winced a little before the pain slipped away and I was left feeling a little numb. Staring up at my collider I noticed that he seemed to just scowl at me before trudging onwards through the empty corridor.

Despite feeling both irritated and offended, I thought it best to continue onwards and try to find Lilly. Turning at the wall the ginger stopped me from running into I was astounded to see someone lying on the floor; as if they too had just been carelessly knocked over. As I cautiously approached them I lifted up their head and I was able to see who it was.

“Mark?” I called out in surprise.

He let out a small groan before answering my call. “Lilly, oh wait, sorry Alex.” He let out a small laugh as I stepped closer and held out a hand to pull him up. “You all look the same from a distance. You know, with the light blue hair an’ all.”

“Oh, really” I replied as I yanked him off the ground “well, do you know that I could say exactly the same about you? You all look the same from far away, with your dark blue hair and all that.” I mocked as he brushed himself down and waited for me to finish.
