James hit the floor, gasping for air as the wind was knocked from his lungs. His competitor smirking above him smugly and James wanted nothing more than to wipe that stupid grin from his face.

James swung his legs, knocking the other to the ground and quicker than lightning had him pinned, a glowing blade at his throat.

"That's enough Walsh"

James heard the instructors voice and stepped back, sheathing his blade and James' competitor got up, now scowling much to James' pleasure.

"James you know the rules"

"I do"

"He had you pinned"

"For three seconds! the rule is five!"

"Three seconds you thought of your next move James, that could be your demise"

"I-"

"Silence, you continue to be incompetent in this field and you'll fail" The instructor snapped and walked away, his competitor smirking again and following him out of the training area, James gritting his teeth and going to get his glasses.

He wasn't incompetent, or slow, or dumb. He just analyzed, he wished people understood that.
