Chapter 17

Now we have lunch. I'm honestly not that hungry, but I know I should eat. I need the energy.

Mattee, Liv, and I sit together at lunch. We talk as we eat, and plan a sleepover next week on Monday. I'm suddenly a lot more excited for Monday then I was before.

Eventually it's time to go back out on the floor. We have a 15 minute warm-up, then we have 30 minutes of muscle conditioning, then 40 minutes on each event, then 15 minutes of stretching. We do the stretch that we did before, but a little quicker, because we already stretched before. We then do the muscle conditioning, which was pretty hard, but not so hard that I couldn't walk. Next we have to go to events again. They put us on the same event that we started on before. This, for us, was bars. We have Franko again. Actually, I think we have the same coaches on every event that we had this morning.

"Alright girls," Franko says. "We're gonna work on our dismounts. Everyone line up behind the two front sets of bars." We do as we're told.

"Should I do my double layout?" I ask timidly.

"How about you do double pikes for now, just because you just learned the double layout. After we do our dismounts I'll spot you on a few though."

I nod and face the bar. I do kip squat on, kip cast to handstand, giant, giant, double pike. I make sure to keep my arms by my ears and keep my legs straight. I stick the landing flawlessly.

"Awesome Mike!" Mattee says.

"Yeah good job Mickey!" Liv cheers.

I smile and look over at Franko. He nods and gives me a thumbs up. I do a few more double pikes before he gives us our stations. We do routines, drills, etc. When I get to his station, I throw my double layout, and make it. I take a few steps, but Franko gives me a few corrections on how to make it better. We continue going through the stations for the rest of the 40 minute rotation.

"Awesome job girls." Franko says. "Head on down to beam."
