I enter the kitchen, Merida was leaning against the counter with a mug of coffee in her hand. I woke up so much earlier than usual because of some bad dreams I got. I was surprised she was up too.

"Good morning, you're not usually up this early." She speaks up.

"You aren't either," I rub some of the irritation from my eyes and they burned from the contact and for being open for so long. All I did was look up at my ceiling all night long after I woke up a few times within an hour. "I didn't get any sleep."

"Nightmare?"

Correction, nightmares. "Yeah." I yawn.

"I'm sorry, I'll cook you breakfast." She gives me a light smile before putting her mug down to grab some stuff out of the refrigerator.

"You don't need to do that."

She stops her tracks but doesn't face me. "Can you please let me make it up to you? I don't care if you haven't forgiven me yet... or won't at all."

I guess I couldn't really go against that, maybe she needed it. Somehow it did feel nice that she was around now, I still haven't seen my father since before we left our old school.

He's still on his business trip and barely talks to mom about when he's coming back home. Honestly it's not like I, or any of us need him, I've literally never had a conversation with him in my life.

"Sure." I shortly responded.

She then continues to grab out eggs and bacon and places them on the counter. I watch her for a little bit. I wonder how she would react if I told her who I was. I bet she would be disgusted and it would all just go back to the first base, where she didn't even look at me or Keegan when she passed by us in the halls.

That's probably why I still hold a grudge on her. I don't exactly know if I could trust her yet. She can keep trying to flatter me but only I can actually determine if it's working.

"Hey, thanks for helping me out with the papers." Luca grins as he closes his locker. I lean against the one next to his.

"Yeah, no problem." I give him a rare smile and he, in return, gives me a strange one.

"Wow, you're smiling." He laughs lightly.

I shrug. "Yeah, yeah."

I guess I'm genuinely feeling a little happy today and Luca surprisingly is someone I can talk to about anything random. He and I talked more than I thought we would and we only had two classes together.

It was kind of nice because I never talked so much to a person before, we're always coming up with different things to say.

"Well it's good you... do..." Luca looks over my shoulder for a second before his eyes come back to me awkwardly. "Um, I think Nonnie wants your attention."
