I'm at that stage in my career where I know I'm smarter than my boss. This is not arrogance but cold hard (and sad) fact. I know this because whenever he's lost he starts parroting about giving me development opportunities. It happens a lot. Ghostwrite his papers. Run his meetings. Prepare responses to potential questions so he can pretend to spontaneously reply.
I'm his shadow for any real work. I'm dragged into his teleconferences as a silent observer so I can furiously scribble answers if he's asked anything. I've even dictated his important emails to him because he had no idea what to write.
The irony is that I’m working for him – so who’s the dumb one now?
