McKenzie’s POV

“McKenzie you should go to bed” Thayne said once again. I had been asking him question after question about everything I could think of.

“Answer!”

“Green” he said finally.

“What color green?” I questioned.

“The color of your eyes” he said quietly.

“Aw” I said turning over on my stomach to face him and kissing his cheek, swinging my legs in the air.

“You’re going to be tired tomorrow” he warned.

“Favorite…” I thought, I was going to say restraunt but Thayne didn’t actually eat so I’m sure he wouldn’t have an answer.

“Place in the world” I finally decided on.

“Wherever you are” he answered automatically. He kept giving me cheesy answers, I rolled my eyes.

“Thayne I’m serious” I said grinning.

“Me too!” he defended grinning mischievously, my heart skipped a beat every time he smiled or grinned at me.

I sighed thinking. “McKenzie” he said again.

“I don’t want to go to bed” I grumbled.

“Would it help you go to bed if I left?” he asked.

“No!” I said too quickly, “no, no then I wouldn’t be able to sleep” I explained.

He sighed “You need sleep love” he said my throat tightened at his pet name and I knew he noticed the way my heartbeat sped up even faster than it already was just from his presence and close proximity.

“Favorite book” I said, he took in a deep breath.

“I don’t know” he answered.

“Favorite month”

“December”

“Why?” I asked.

“I like the cold” he answered. Wait… Isn’t hell hot?

“Isn’t hell hot?” I said slowly.

“Yes”

“Do you not like it there?”

“Just about as much as anybody” he replied a certain amount of bitterness coating his voice.

“You don’t like hell? But you’re a demon” I blurted out.

He grinned “good observation” he pointed out, I gasped.

“Was that sarcasm, you aren't allowed to use sarcasm you’re not even from the century,” I said making him chuckle.

“Just because I’m a demon doesn’t mean I like going to hell”

“Why not?” I asked.

“It’s hot, and an extremely intimidating place” he settled on.

“Oh is it? Really?” I said sarcastically.

“Was that sarcasm?” he teased.

“I’m allowed to use sarcasm I’m from this century” I said grinning at him.

“That’s something you seem to speak quite fluently” he stated.

“Good observation” I said, making him shake his head chucking.

“You need to go to sleep” he reminded me, I groaned.

“Stop reminding me” I whined.

“Time for bed you’re whining” he said, I stuck my pierced tongue out at him.
