24 - "Wait a second. Are you jealous?"

Start from the beginning

"Oh, uh.. no we actually-" I try to dodge that request but to no success obviously.

"Oh come on!" Pouting a little, Alex makes me sigh loudly.

"Jonah doesn't drink though, so there's that" I try to argue as Alex quickly narrows his eyes at him.

"But you do, right? What about Zach or Daniel? Jonah can be your cheerleader" Alex winks at me, a smirk playing on his lips as he doesn't really wait for an answer and pulls me along the dance floor with me quickly grabbing Jonah's hand and dragging him after me.

Stopping at the beer pong table, Alex lightly pushes me to one side of it.
"You wait here, I'll go find Daniel and Zach. Oh, that's Jake over there, I'll play with him" pointing to the other end of the table, a guy our ages lifts his hand, a small smile playing on his lips as I mirror his expression.

Disappearing back into the crowd, Alex leaves us alone again, an awkward silence falling among the three of us as Jonah clears his throat quietly, letting go of my hand.

"So you are Cam, right?" Breaking the silence, Jake steps a little closer to the table, playing with a ping pong ball in his hand.

"Yes. That's Jonah" pointing my thumb at him, Jonah waves his hand.

"You work with Alex at that restaurant? He told me some stuff about you" Jake smiles at me as I nod my head at his question.

"And what about you? How do you know Alex?" Trying to make some conversation, I ask him some questions as well.

"Alex and I go way back. We met in kindergarden and are best friends ever since basically" he explains, our attention quickly darting to said boy who stumbles out of the crowd with Zach and Daniel behind him.

"Danny here said he would play with you" pushing my best friend towards my end of the table, Alex takes his spot next to Jake as Jonah joins Zach at the wall near by, watching us.

"I'm just going to warn you Alex, you are going down" fixing my shirt a little, I raise an eyebrow at him.

"We'll see. But I guess it should be ladies first" Alex passes the ball to me.

Taking my first throw, I hit one of the cups perfectly, letting the ball bounce of the table once as the rules go.
"See?"

"That was luck" Alex scoffs, taking the cup in his hand and downing the beer, taking the ball out of it first.

Passing it back to me, I let Daniel take his turn, with him hitting the next cup as well, Jake groaning already as he takes this one.

With it being my turn again, I hit the next cup, making Alex drink it. Daniel unfortunately misses his next one so it's Alex's turn as he hits a cup.
Taking the beer in my hand, I fish the ball out of the cup before downing the alcohol.
Passing the ball back to Alex, he gives it to Jake who misses his shot, making Daniel take his turn.

My eyes dancing to the other two boys, I find them not even paying attention to us as they are caught up in a conversation with some girl. Now I wouldn't think anything of it normally but the way she leans close to Jonah and the way she touches his arm all the time while talking to him and the loud obnoxious giggles she fills the room with make me clench my jaw, my eyes focused only on them as Zach's weird look doesn't help either. Narrowing his eyes at this girl, who doesn't seem to pay any attention to him but apparently being super interested in Jonah, he gives me the feeling that I have every right to react the way I do.

"Cam?" Daniel pulls me out of my thoughts as he pokes my shoulder.

"Huh?" Turning back to the game, I recieve a confused look from my best friend and a small smirk from Alex as I feel my cheeks heat up. I'm acting like a freaking teenager. I have no need to be jealous of this girl.
