Hiccup's P.O.V.

I examine my map, it has a lot of crosses on it from where I've searched. My last spot should be in front of me. I hold my breath and close my eyes, looking up. I open my eyes and....bam! Nothing.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!
I place another cross in. In frustration I scribble over my map and slap my pencil on, slamming my journal shut and tucking it in its place on the left side of my jacket.

"Oh, the gods hate me. Some people lose their knife, or their mug. No, not me. I manage to lose an ENTIRE DRAGON?!" I complain as I stalk through the forest, birds chirping.

I've been out here for quite a few hours and yet I haven't found the dragon. It feels like I've been out here for years, It's actually almost midday now!

I slap a branch in blind anger stupidly and it comes back at me.
"OW!"
Just my luck...
I rub my eye as I look up at a....split and fallen tree. My eyes follow it to the tip where a trail is.

Tree tips are snapped off on either side by something that is obviously not by an axe and it doesn't seem to be natural causes.

So no, not man made.

I look on in wonder and immediately go down the track, touching a branch on my way, I turn to see that it has claw marks on it.

In fact, the whole trail of destruction leads up a bank. I examine the so-called evidence as I walk.
I drop to all fours as I patter up the steep hill, looking around.
My gaze faces forward and I drop down, gasping. My heart races. It has to be the Night Fury! I'm so dead...

I know that I saw a black shape. So why hasn't it....? It might be...it could be.....I should check.

I take a risky peek, the dragon doesn't appear to be moving. Its all wrapped up in my bola.

I search myself for my only weapon nervously. I find my dagger and hold it in front of me.
I stare at this tiny knife that is meant to defend me.
Come on Hiccup. You...you can do this.

I creep closer and duck behind a rock, thinking it might have noticed me. Nothing. I scoot over and take another peek.

Nope I'm still alive. It's... not though.

I come out of hiding more confidently and approach the fallen dragon.

"Oh, wow. I...I did it. Oh, I did it!" I say, creeping closer to it. I gesture towards it as I celebrate. "This fixes everything! Yes! I have brought down this mighty beast!" I exclaim, placing my foot triumphantly on the dragon.
I can finally be respected!

Suddenly, I'm shoved away.
WHAT THE HELHEIM?
"Whoa!" I cry, stumbling backward, breathing heavily now. I shakily take out my knife. Now I actually have to kill it......
