Astrid POVPreviously
I look down at the body. I'm sorry it had to be this way.
Slowly, I lift the body up further.
...but you were a psycho.I flip it over the rail and watch as it drops into the waves with a splash.I turn around, lifting my hands to see them covered in blood. I grimace, shaking them slightly. How do I explain this if someone runs into-
"Astrid?"
I look up... and freeze.
"...Kurt."
I'm dead. I'm as dead as Gosta.
Now:
Oh great Odin's ghost... I'm so dead.
Kurt stares at me silently, tensely. Like he thinks I'll murder him too.
I go to open my mouth. Itching to say something, anything, to stop him from...well, I don't know what he'll do. I take a breath, open my mouth, but he holds up a hand to silence me."Don't you dare try to lie your way out of this. I know what I just saw." He orders coldly. I guess rubbish disposal is out of the question.
I open my mouth again. "Kurt, I-I can explain! I-it was an a-accident." I stammer, but he shakes his head. Takes a step back from me. His hand goes to his sheathed sword.
Oh Thor.I hold up my hands in an attempt to reason with him. "Please, listen to me Kurt, I-"
Suddenly, I'm interrupted by a voice.
"You two!" Our heads snap over to a man sticking his head out of a door. "Hey, come on, Capn's called a meeting, requested everyone's presence."
"But-" Kurt is cut off by the man again.
"No arguments, don't keep him waiting!" He insists, surging forward and grabbing Kurt's wrist... and mine. I freeze.
"You can't hide forever, Astrid!"
"You'll pay for that!"
"Nowhere to run, little Astrid!"
"Nowhere to hide!"He's touching me no no no he's gonna hurt me he's gonna-
I let out a cry of...well something. Not fear. It can't be. I'm fearless, brave, courageous. I don't get scared.Anyway, I act on instinct. Yeah, let's say that. I jam my elbow into his side and stomp my foot onto his. He releases my arm with a hiss of pain.
Without him touching me, my vision clears. I let out choked breath, seeing the innocent man bending over and clutching his side.
"S-Sorry, sir. I-I'm so sorry." I stammer, feeling heat rise up my face. "Are you ok?!"
He lets out a short laugh, straightening up, "i-it's ok, you're Astrid, right?"
"How'd you know?" I ask, confused.
"Everyone talks about the feisty one," He chuckles.
I let out a small smile. "Oh. Yeah." I respond sheepishly. I feel a sense of familiarity, but push it away. I'm still on edge.
"Anyway, both of you come with me please." The man says. That's when I'm reminded of Kurt's prensece. I glance at him as we follow after Kurt through the door. He shoots me a weird look. He doesn't look very angry anymore, which confuses me. Shouldn't he be furious?
