I snap my eyes open. We've been fighting towards the castle for the last couple days. We're making very little progress against the massive Imperial Army. I want to end this war as much as anybody, but we're being run into the ground. If we try to take Esdeath one on one, we'll be killed quickly. I'm with a small group of soldiers sitting in a small clinic we had taken. After all the fighting, I've lost hundreds of good people. Now, I'm only down to these twenty or so. They're strong I'll give them that, but every person has a limit, and they are all over their limit...as am I. The fight with the Forsaken had taken a toll on my body. The Wyvern Venom he had used on me damaged me really bad. Once this war is over, I'll finally rid my body of this shadow that's been chasing me these past few years. Trying to get some sleep is nearly impossible. We may have captured this area, but the Empire is still sending out soldiers to take it back. They want us all dead and they won't stop until we are. 

I sigh deeply and stand up. The moonlight is blocked by a thick layer of clouds. The rancid smell of the dead hits my nose. I'm used to it by now. Thousands have died by my hands in this war. Once Esdeath is gone, I'll make sure that Syura has a painful death. I'll torture him until he wants to die himself. And when he does, I'll rip him to shreds. He's the reason I am who I am; why I became who I am. I take out a map of the city and cross off this section. We're only a few blocks away from the center of the city: the castle. I'm surprised that Esdeath hasn't made an appearance. Leone and the others should be infiltrating the castle tonight and killing the Emperor and Honest. Crow is tasked with killing Esdeath, but I've never seen him fight at his fullest. I wonder if he can kill her. I'm wondering just how powerful Esdeath really is. I've never fought her nor have I seen her fight. If I'm to bring order, I need to be on the front lines with my people. Najenda put out the word that the heir is here to take back the throne. Too bad, I won't be taking that throne. I'll be gone once this is over.

I activate Sheshin and slash a bullet out of the air. I heard that from the top of the castle. I guess I stood out here too long. I shake my head and head back in the clinic. It's time we move to the next spot. The Empire will pinpoint us if we don't keep moving. No matter how tired, we can't give up hope; we can't stop moving! I will fulfill my family's wish of revenge. Everyone is dead because of this damned war. Everyone is dead because of me....

I dig my claws out of the Imperial soldier. Blood spurts out onto my hand. I look back at who I have left. Just a handful is all I have to work with. I'm hoping some sort of relief will make their way to me. I hear heavy fighting coming from the square. I tell my soldiers to wait and take a break inside the nearby houses. Hopefully there are people who will take them in and let them rest. I don't need anymore needless death from here on out. I dodge an ice spike that tears through a building in front of me. Crow and Esdeath are finally fighting. I will make sure that he survives.

I climb the building and as the moonlight pierces through the clouds, I reach the top. A myriad of chains are flying in the air towards Esdeath. I've only seen that attack once and it's one that can kill an army instantly. Before they disappear, Crow sprints underneath them and lands a blow into Esdeath's thigh. Blood splatters Crow's face. He spins on his feet only to be met with a powerful kick under his chin. Blood escapes his mouth from the blow and he lands on his back hard. He gets up on unsteady feet and I watch as his blood flows around him forming into a ball in his hands. He sprints across the clearing ignoring all her attacks. 

Everything seems to slow down as a massive red explosion rocks the square. I brace myself and feel my building turn to nothing below me. I fall to the ground and cover my body as debris falls around me. I watch a massive rock rain towards me and I slide out of the way. In the moonlight, I see Esdeath in the air holding her body. She's broken to a point of near death.
