Jack sat down on the sofa, turning on the TV. It was on the news channel as no one had turned it on since his grandpa had been watching this morning.

"Next, Daniel Seavey is a deaf teen who lost his leg in a car crash after saving his suicidal friend. He posted a video on YouTube when he was in the hospital, which blew up overnight. Here it is now." The newsreader finished speaking and the video started playing.

Daniel sat in the bed looking down. He looked up and swung his legs round so they we dangling over the side of the bed. He looked straight forwards to the camera and started to sign. Subtitles popped up, letting him know what the words where.

Jack started to sign the poem along with Daniel. He had never heard it before, but it gave him hope. He needed hope.

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll,

I am the master of my fate,

I am the captain of my soul. -Invictus
