"Thank you for telling me, boys." He said with a serious look on his face. "Do you have anywhere you could stay tonight before we sort something out?" Jack shakes his head.

"You can stay with me," Jonah replies, Jack shaking his head with wide eyes.

"Jack, you need to stay somewhere." He shook his head again.

"We can see if there is room in the young people's hostel for the night," Jack declined the offer at the same time that Mrs Barnsley walks in.

"Sorry, am I intruding?" She apologises. Mr Crupp shakes his head.

"No, no not at all, can I help?" He asked her.

"I was just coming to collect my things," she said, smiling. "Carry on," she waves them away. The boys look. Back at the English teacher, weary of  Jacks favourite teaching assistant in the room.

Mr Crupp sighs. "You have to go go somewhere," he tells Jack. The curly haired boy looks down. "You can't stay alone in that house, Jack. You need an adult with you." Jack looked back up, worry plastered all over his face. Jonah looked down at the teen's hands to find them shaking.

"Come on, Jack." Mr Crupp said. Youth hostel or Jonah's house. Jack shook his head again. "Why don't you want to go to Jonah's?" He slid him a notebook.

I don't want his family knowing what happened.

"And the hostel?" Mr Crupp asked after reading his previous sentence. The teen picked up the one for the second time.

I don't what anybody to find out I'm there.

Jonah knew what he meant. last year oliver green got sent there after he and his parents were caught in a fire which destroyed their house. His mum died from smoke inhalation and he, his dad and sister were covered in horrific burns.

*mild trigger warning with mentions of suicide*

When the bullies found out he was staying there, he ended suffering months of tormenting and bullying. Losing everything you own and your own mother is bad enough but throwing in bullying made it overwhelmingly hard to cope and he eventually decided to end it permanently. He took his father's gun onto his head and pulled the trigger.

*trigger warning over*

"Please Jack, come on." The middle aged man asked again, getting a bit agitated. Jack shrugged.

"please Jack," Jonah said. The curly haired boy shook his head.

Mrs Barnsley picked up her back and walked over to Jack, putting a hand in his shoulder.

"How do you feel about staying with me?" The teaching assistant asks. Jack thought about the offer and after a while nodded at the woman who had acted as her therapy for years.

"you'd like that?" She smiled. Jack returned one, nodding.

Thank you
