Through It All

Part 12

"Well you have to," I said. "I'm sorry but mommy's not coming. I'm all you got. Come on down to breakfast."

"I'm not hungry!" He yelled.

"If you're not downstairs in your chair I'm going to spank you," I said sternly before walking out of him room.

I went downstairs and say Skylar in her chair placing a plate with a pancake on it.

Seconds later, Jennifer came running in giving the two of us kisses on our cheeks.

"Be back later! Love you!" She yelled running out the door. She was always kinda a scatter brain. But we love her.

"Kayden Bieber, if you're not down here in two minutes..." I yelled towards the direction of the stairs only to have him come in a minute later with a grumpy look on his face.

"Well thank you for gracing us with your presence," I said placing his favorite bowl of cereal in front of him.

"Eat, I'm going to help Sky get dressed. Come on baby girl," I said placing her empty plate in the sink and stretching out my hand for her.

Eventually I got both of the kiddos dressed and in the appropriate places, not without a fight of course, but we made it. After that it was off to work for me.

"Mr. Bieber there's a Miss Gomez on the phone for you. Line 1," my secretary, Sandra, said poking her head into my office.

"Thank you," I said picking up the phone.

"Miss Gomez," I said with a smile dancing on my lips.

Her beautiful laugh came though the other line.

"I want to thank you for this whole weekend. You were there for me when I needed sometime. Thank you," I smiled.

"Anytime," she said. "I was actually calling to confirming your appointment for tomorrow evening."

"I will be there, but isn't your secretary usually the one to call?" I asked.

"Would you believe me if I said she was at lunch?" She asked with a laugh.

"No," I laughed. "Speaking of, what are you doing for lunch today?"

"Nothing that I know of, why?" She asked.

"Would you want to go with me?" I asked.

"Sure where do you wanna go?"

I leaned back in my chair. "How abhor the deli shop right by your office. I'm only doing a half day at the office today so there's no rush for me."

"Sure. I have an appointment at 11:30 so meet there at like 12:45?"

"Perfect see you there," I said as I hung up the phone.

*Selena's POV*

"I'm going out," I said with my bag in hand.

"With Justin?" Sam said causing me to turn around.

"Were you listening in on my call?" I asked.

"You shouldn't be going out with a client," she said crossing her arms over her body.

"He just lost his wife Sam. I'm just being friendly. Don't be getting any ideas," I huffed rolling my eyes at her.

"I know you better than that, Selena. Just be careful okay. Like you said he just lost his wife, he's probably not ready to move on yet."

"Long time no see," Justin joked as I sat down at the table he had for us.

"One days a long time," I joked going along with him.

"It really is. You look nice," he said causing me to blush and also reminding me I had to keep a hold on my emotions.

"Thank you," I said looking down at my menu to avoid eye contact.

"So how are the kids handling things?" I asked after we both ordered our food.

"Skylars okay with it, well as okay as you can be with losing your mom but Kayden is such a hassle. He threw a huge fit this morning about how he didn't want to go to school without him mommy. Aubrey was always the one to get them up in the morning and get them ready for school," he explained messing with the damp napkin under his drink.

"Kayden will come around. I can talk to him if you want tomorrow. And you'll get used to the morning routine."

"Thanks. That would really mean a lot," he said just as our food was served.

And for some reason I couldn't get Sam's warning out of my mind.
