Through It All

Part 10

*Selena's POV*

Saying that Justin's house was huge was a complete understatement. His house was the kind of house they you drive by when you're little and dream about running around in and playing an ultimate game of hide and seek because you know there would be so many places to hide. You pictured having your own maid to clean not only your playroom but also your room. A chef at your beck and call.

"Where's your room?" I asked trying to not let my eyes wonder too much.

"1st on the left," he sniffled.

I got him up to his room and got him a change of clothes, leaving the room to let him change. When he was done changing I got his suit and put it on a hanger to take to the dry cleaners.

I laid him down and covered him up.

I walked over to the door turning out to lights.

"Don't leave. I'll be up in a few," he said tiredly. I agreed walking out the door.

As soon as I closed the bedroom door I saw some family photos down the hallway of Justin with a beautiful girl, who must have been Aubrey, and the same two kids that I meet once at the beginning of our first appointment. I couldn't remember their names though. They were a very cute family. Almost like the picture perfect family that you would see on a magazine that looked too good to be true but they looked truly happy. Justin and the little boy looked very much alike. Aubrey and they look girl looked alike as well. Even just from looking at the few pictures on the wall, I could tell Justin and Aubrey were very much in love.

I finally decided to mind my own business and go back down the grand staircase that led to the foyer of the house and find my way into the living room.

From what I could gather walking around the house, there was no cleaning crew or butler. It looked like Justin and his wife were very down to earth.

Another thing I noticed from walking around was how well the house was put together. In a lot of houses, the interior from one room in no way matches the other but everything in this house flows, I liked that.

Seeing how big the house is made me wonder what Aubrey and Justin did for a living because whatever they did they made good money.

I eventually found myself in the living room and placed myself on top of the comfortable black leather love seat. I noticed a clock to the left of the television that read it was 7 in the evening. Who knew how long Justin would sleep?

*Justin's POV*

I woke up around 8:30, honestly feeling so much better. I rolled out of bed and wondered down the big almost empty house looking for Selena.

I made my way to the living room to see her passes out on the sofa. I took a blanket that was draped over one of the other seats and placed it on her sleeping body.

I then walk into the kitchen to find something to cook for the two of us when Selena woke up. It was very kind of her to not only get me home from the graveyard but also stay with me when I needed someone.

I found some stuff to make some fried chicken which was one of the only real things I knew how to make, other than all kinds of pasta.

I washed and cut the chicken before battering it and frying it up. I did that with the few strips of chicken I had setting it on a paper towel to drain of access oil.

Right as I pulled the last piece out of oil Selena walked into the kitchen with the blanket I put of her wrapped around her shoulder.

"Did you sleep okay? I'm sorry I slept for that long," I said walking over to her.

"Yeah, that's actually the best I've slept in a while. Thank you. And don't worry about sleeping in. You needed it. Do you feel any better?"

"Yeah I do," I nodded with a small smile. The first time I had smiled in quiet a while. "Are you hungry? I know it's late but we slept through dinner."

"Yeah. It smells good," she smiled walking towards the food.

I handed her white plate with a ribbon on black damask painted around the edge. They were always one of Aubrey's favorite things in the house oddly enough.

"When I woke up," I said as we both sat at the dinning room table, "I was thinking about Aubrey. Then I came to the conclusion that just because she's not physically here doesn't mean I still can't be with her. I mean everyone keeps saying she's still with me and if that's true than I should stay devoted to her, you know? It will just be like a long distance relationship really. She can hear me but I can't her. I'll just have to live with it."

"Um, Justin," Selena said after swallowing. "I don't really think that's the best thing to do. I know it may be soon but you need to move on. Not now just eventually. It's not good to hold onto Aubrey like that. Yeah you need to always remember her but pretending to be married to her is not at all healthy and it's going to make losing her twenty times harder."

I sighed and sunk deeper into my chair knowing she was right.

"Hey don't worry about it. I'm going to help you through it. I'll be here through it all, I promise."
