Through It All

Part 12

*Justin's POV*

The next morning I woke up and decided I would make Jen an 'I'm sorry' breakfast for the way I treated her yesterday. We were family, we were supposed to always have each other's backs.

I made her favorite breakfast, which included blueberry waffles with fresh raspberries on top topped with maple syrup. I placed it all on a tray, with a tall cool glass of orange juice, and brought it up to her room.

I set it on her nightstand and sat down next to her, shaking her gently.

"What the heck," she said, waking up startled.

"I'm sorry for yesterday so I made you breakfast," I said picking up the tray.

"It's fine," she yawned sitting up. "I actually took your advise and went out with Ryan."

"You did?!" I asked shocked because I knew just how stubborn Jen could be.

"Yeah, we went out and talked and he apologized and we just caught up," she explained pushing some of the berries around as she talked to me.

"Are you going to go back out with him?" I asked realizing not only did I sound like a girl, I sounded exactly like my wife.

"We're going on a date with Wednesday," she smiled avoiding eye contact.

"I'm really glad," I smiled. "Eat up. You start class today."

"What time is it?" She asked shoving the food in her mouth in a hurry.

"7:45," I said looking at my Rolex.

"I'm going to be late," she said jumping out of bed and running into the bathroom across the hall.

I cleaned up the mess from breakfast and got the kids breakfasts ready before heading up to the second floor to wake them up.

"Baby girl it's time to get up," I said turning off we fan and night light only for her to stretch her arms out for me to hold her.

I picked her up and kissed her head, brushing back her messy bed head. Together we walked into her brothers room to get him up.

"Kay wake up. We have to get you up school," I said turning off his sleeping fan as well.

"I don't want to go to school," he said turning to the other side.

"I don't want to go to work either but I have to," I said setting down on his little twin size bed, with Sky still clinging to me.

"I'm not going without mommy!" He proclaimed.
