Part 32

*Justin's POV*

"I don't think I can do this," Selena whispered shutting her eyes as her leg bounced up and down nervously.

"They are your family. There is nothing to be afraid of. Remember, if you're not having a good time we can leave and say something happened with the kids," I soothed placing my hand on her back rubbing it softly.

She let of a long breath, nodding her head. She opened up the car door and stepped out onto the black pavement.

I followed her lead walking right next to her with her hand securely in mine.

"Should I knock or just go in?" She asked as we approached the wooden door.

"Um, knock," I shrugged reaching my fist forward to lightly pound on the door.

The wide door slowly creeped opening displaying a guy a few years younger than me, maybe Jen's age.

"Selena! You came. Come in. Everyone's in the back. I told them you were coming; they are so excited," he said reaching forward to hug her. "You go ahead to the back, I'm gonna change into something cooler."

Selena nodded and tugged me along walking through what I assume was the spacious living room to the kitchen which was modern and for some reason that surprised me. It must have been the look from the outside that threw me off. From outside the house looked like it would be very outdated but surprisingly, it wasn't.

She slid the glass door to the right and walked out into the backyard filled with people.

"Selena!" Person after person yelled coming up to her, with the exact same shocked expression on all of their faces.

"Mom, dad," Selena greeted two older, yet still young looking people. They looked almost as old as my mom which wasn't very old considering she was very young when she had me.

"It's been too long dear," her mother replied giving her a tight little squeeze.

"Guys, this is Justin, my boyfriend," Selena explained right away gesturing to me.

I shook hands with both of them, sending them each a smile and a small 'nice to meet you.'

She chatted with them while I looked around, and noticed the guy who answered the door walking around in a sleeveless shirt and basketball shorts with a beer in his hand. It wasn't until he turned his body to talk to someone that I noticed it.

Right in front of my very own eyes was three star tattoos in the shape of a pyramid. I inhaled deeply causing both Selena and her parents to look at me in confusion.

"Could I barrow her really fast?" I said in a panic as I pulled her away from everyone else.

"What is wrong with you?" She asked with a twisted face.

"I saw him Selena. He's here," I whispered looking around to make sure no one could hear.

"Who's here Justin?" She asked placing her hand on my upper arm.

"Aubrey's killer. I saw the tattoo. It was the guy who opened the door for us!"

She cleared her throat looking around. "Justin, do you think maybe you're seeing things? Maybe you're a little dehydrated or maybe hungry. Let's get you something to eat."

"No Selena! I saw him! I have to call the police!" I exclaimed.

"Justin, stop. Stay here. I'm going to get you something okay? Just don't move," she ordered shaking her head before scurrying off in a rush.

I tried to breathe deeply and think rationally about it but I knew what I saw. I know for a face my mind wasn't making things up and I did, in fact, see those tattoos.

After confirming with myself what I saw, I knew, despite Selena's orders, I had to call Decretive Holbrook.

I got out my phone and started scrolling through my contact as fast as possible. Right as I was about to click on the name, a pair of freshly manicured hands snatched my phone away from my grip.

"What the heck!"

"I told you not to call them. You're just going to stir up something that's not even there. The killer is not here okay?"

This was one of the very few times I had seen Selena snap.  It was, quite honestly, scary.

"I'm not crazy," I spoke calmly. "He needs to pay for what he did."

"You can't do that," she replied back just as calmly as I was speaking to her.

"Oh my gosh," I whispered remember just where I had seen that face before. "That's your brother isn't it? The same one from the restaurant. That's why you don't want me to call. It all makes sense now. You're protecting him."

"Justin, you don't understand-" Selena started.

"No, I do understand. But this is me protecting Aubrey and my family."

I took a step back and took one last look at her before walking back the way that we had come in, but this time alone.

I never would have thought this is how this would turn out.

I got into my car and locked the doors before finally pressing the contact and putting the phone up to my ear.

After a few rings, his deep voice spoke into the phone.

"Detective Holbrook, this is Justin Bieber. I have information about Aubrey's case that you might be interested in..."
