Through it all
Part 25
*Selena's POV*
I walked into the tv area and saw both of the kids laying down on separate couches half asleep. Even they weren't used to getting up this early on a Sunday.
"I know you guys usually watch cartoons with your dad on Sunday mornings so I figured we can do that until you guys get hungry for lunch and we can go out somewhere," I said aloud, mostly to myself because I knew a) the kids were only half awake and b) the part that was awake was focused on the tv and not the words coming out of my mouth.
"Lena?" Skylar asked sleepily.
"What's up?" I asked giving my attention to her.
"Cup," she whined softly with closed eyes.
I knew exactly what this meant. Spending several night here over the past few months I had the daily schedule down almost to a tee.
I walked over to the kitchen opening one of the lower cabinets that were filled with Skylar's 'special sippy cups'. In the cabinet was an array of colored cups with matching lids. However on Sunday's cup was always green with a blue lid filled with milk.
After presenting her with her cup I sat down in the usual place I did when I was here on Sundays and watched one of their favorite cartoons.
-
Two hours passed and they kids were getting bored of cartoon but seeing that it was only 8:50 it was too early for lunch.
"How about we go swimming?" I suggested and both of their heads sprung up.
"Yes!!" Skylar yelled happily running off to upstairs to get ready to go, with Kayden and I following close behind her.
As soon as I was ready, I began to blow up Skylar's floaties. I helped her wiggle them up her arms, tugging lightly on them to make sure they were secure.
Together all three of us got in the warm water of the pool. Skylar and I played together with the different pool toys, while Kayden kept mostly to himself.
"Again!" Skylar yelled laughing. She thought it was the funniest and coolest thing ever to throw the little sinking pool toys to the bottom and watch me dive for it.
I took a big gulf of air before plunging myself down to reach for the weighted orange stick. Once it was in my hand, I broke through the surface of the water letting out a breath and receiving fresh air.
"Yay!!" Skylar clapped, happy that i had got the toy.
"Momma taught Kayden to swim can you teach me Selena?" She asked innocently causing Kade to go rogue.
"She is not momma!" He yelled, aggressively turning so he was facing us. "She will never replace her!"
And with that he stormed out of the in-ground pool and into the house.
*Justin's POV*
"I have already spent most of my Sunday taking care of this," I said trying to stay as calm as I possibly could. However, my patience is running out quickly. "Get it under control." Quickly I hit the end call button on my steering wheel not wanting to deal with the matter any further.
I turned left following the familiar way to my best friends house hoping to, not only make amends with him but also my sister.
I walked up to the door confidently and knocked on it with my fist, taking one step back to wait.
"Justin?" Ryan asked confused after my display the other night.
"Look I know you're mad at me but I wanted to apologize to you. To the both of you. I didn't mean what I said, I guess... I guess I was just a little jealous that I'll never get to have that with Aubrey again."
