Part 24

*Justin's POV*

"I'm sorry what?" I asked chocking a little and blinking wide at the same time.

"I'm pregnant. Ryan and I are having a baby," Jennifer repeated.

"I did not sign up for that," I said to Selena. "I thought the worse thing that could happen was she moved in with him not she's having his child."

"And you," I said turning my attention to Ryan. "How could you be so careless? Why would you not use protection?"

"Justin there are little ears," Selena warned. I just pulled out the keys from my pocket and handed them to her without bothering to look at her.

"Take them out of here. I'll be out in a minute," I said monotone, keeping my gaze locked on Jennifer and Ryan.

She hesitated, but ended up take the keys and the kids out of the room.

"Why are you freaking out man? You act like kids ruin your life," Ryan asked confused.

"You are such an idiot," I huffed angrily. "You know what mine is Aubrey's biggest regret was? Not waiting to have children. Don't get me wrong, we love both of those kids but we never got time to just be us. Never. Before we were even out of high school we were parents."

"But that different," Jen protested. "I'm 20. Ryan's 25, we've had time to be us."

"You've only been together for a few months! Are you getting married now?" I pressured.

"I-I don't know," Ryan said, he breath picking up speed.

I laughed dryly. "You have no idea do you? Whatever, don't come crying to me when you realize I was right," I said walking out the house.

I got into the car, slamming the door behind me.

"I can't believe this is happening," I sighed frustrated.

"Justin, it was going to happen eventually," Selena tried to reason.

"Is that supposed to make me feel better?" I asked with a hint of attitude.

"Don't start that with me," Selena said as I began to drive off home. "Just because you're mad at the two of them doesn't mean you can go around giving attitude to anyone you want. If you want to solve your problems talk about them," she said standing up against me.

"Sorry," I muttered.

The rest of the drive home was dead silent and I didn't want to bother to break it.

I was mad at the world. Selena was mad at me. And I think the kids were oblivious about what was even going on.

We arrived home and together we put the kids to bed just like any other night.

"Are you staying?" I asked once the door to Skylar's room was closed nice and right.

"I think it's time I go home," she said. "Bye Justin."

*Selena's POV*

The next morning my eyes shot open to the sound of my ringer.

I reached over into my night stand and picked it up, answering it.

"Hello?" I asked slightly panicked seeing it was 6 in the morning and I don't usually get calls this early on a Sunday.

"Sel, I know you're mad at me but there's an emergency at work. I have to go in but I don't have anyone to watch the kids. They are already up and fed would you please come over and look after them. I promise they will be good," Justin ranted into the phone.

"Jay, calm down. I'm on my way," I said with a small laugh. He always freaked out about everything.

"Thank you," he sighed. "And Sel? I'm sorry about last night. I was way out of line. It's not my life it's her's."

"I appreciate that Justin but maybe you should be telling Jen that and not me," I said grabbing everything I would need. Which wasn't much seeing I already had a whole wardrobe over here.

"I know and I plan to. After I get off, I'm going to stop by Ryan's and tell them. I can't lose them from my life like I lost Aubrey," he mentioned, whispering the last part. Pain evident in his voice.

"You won't. Just apologize, it will be okay. I'm on my way over I'll be there in less than 15 minutes."

Right on time, I drove my car onto the rounded drive way parking in my usual spot. It had practically become my own.

I walked right into the house without even bothering to knock because let's face it, this house was like my second home.

"Good you're here!" Justin said coming down the stairs quickly with a tee shirt and jeans on.

"Yup. I have everything under control. Take your time," I smiled handing him his keys.

He kissed my cheek and turned to look at me. "Later tonight I want to take you out on our first official date. We can see how it goes and maybe move on from there? I already have a baby sitter set up."

"What made you so sure I would say yes?" I asked flirtatiously. Justin just smirked at me. "Okay fine," I laughed. "What time?"

"Be ready by 7."

"Okay. Be safe. Have a good day," I smiled watching as he went out to his car.

"Make sure the kids behave," he yelled back before I closed the door.

I had been alone with the kids plenty of time but never for so long. Lord knew how long things would take a Justin work... Well this was going to be interesting.
