Chapter 18: Farewell Thora

---- 3 weeks later ----

I've been here for 3 weeks now and I'm actually enjoying my time here. Thora and I have been round the whole island now. We just talk to each other and she actually listens and understands me. The girls only 6 and I feel like I've got a bestfrend.

Yesterday Thora and I helped get some fish in for the island and then She taught me home to make smoked fish. I will have to take that method back to Berk.

---- Early in the evening ----

" Hiccup?" Asks Thora

" Yes?" 

" I'm really going to miss you when you go back to berk, do you promise to always come back and visit. Because I would love to meet your baby when it arrives." She said

" Of course I will always come back and visit you Thora, I'd never forget what a true friend you have been to me" I said

" Have you thought of any names for your baby yet?" Asked Thora

" No, come to think of it I've not." I said

For Vikings it is tradition that the father always names the baby.

" I've got a good name" Said Thora

" Well do tell" I giggled

Thora ran over and whispered the name into my ear

" That's a lovely name Thora, thank you" I said

" Okay well I've got to go to sleep now, I offered to collect the fish again tomorrow" Said Thora

" Okay, and I'll help you. Goodnight Thora" I said before bedding down to sleep.

" HICCUP?!" shouts Frey

" HICCUP!" 

---- Hiccup's P.O.V ----

I wake up in the middle of the night to Frey shouting my name, As I fully waken I spell burning and hear screams.

I run out my bedroom and find Frey holding Thora in his arms, She's covered in blood and she's unconscious.

" THORA!" I shout and I run over and place her on the table

" HICCUP! ALIVN IS ATTACKING!, THORA WAS HELPING PEOPLE GET INTO THEIR HOMES WHERE SHE WAS SHOT AT BY ALIVN HIMSELF! IM GOING AFTER HIM. PLEASE SAVE HER HICCUP!" shouts Frey before he quickly runs out to find Alvin

" THORA?!" I call

Hey eyes slowly open and she begins to breath even more heavily

" HICC...UP?!" She calls

" Thora please stay awake" I cry

" Hiccup remember one tears not going to save me, so neither will all of them" she says as she wipes the tears from my face

" Thora please don't go, your my bestfriend and your the only person on this island that gets me" I cry

" Hiccup I'm 6 years old? how can I be your bestfriend?" She giggles

" shall I define a bestfriend Thora?" I say with a smile

" Sure"

" A bestfriend is the one who is closest to me, and you are the closest to me than anyone Thora. You may be 6 years old but you listen to me and I listen to you Thora" I cry more

" Hiccup?" 

" Yes?"

" Your my bestfriend too" She says as she gives her last breath and her falls back

" Tell my father I love him, and tell him no tears will bring me back but they will help him"

" Thora?"

" THORA!?"

"NOOO!" I cry

Thora died in my arms, she looked so peaceful and yet so cold. I wrapped my coat round her and help her in my arms weeping for a couple of minutes. Just then Frey runs in with his arm covered in blood.

" Hiccup they're gone, the villagers and I fought them away, I got shot in my arm but no one is seriously hurt" Said Frey with a smile on his face

Then he looks at Thora and pauses

" Why is she sleeping Hiccup?" He asks

" Frey I'm so sorry, she died in my arms. She said for me to tell you that she loves you and that she thinks its okay if you cry because she knows it won't bring her back but it will make the pain better" I cry

" No.. No..NOOO! NOT MY BABY GIRL! THORA" Cries Frey and he drops on his knees and begins to cry

" MY LITTLE GIRL!" 

I place Thora on the ground next to Frey and close her eyes

" Rest in piece Thora" I cry

" Rest in piece baby girl" Cries Frey

Authors note: I dedicate this chapter of the book to a girl from my area on 12 years old who recently passed away due to cancer R.I.P princess 04/06/2014.
