Dan has had his troubles since the surgery, but other than a few incision scars he has fully recovered. We've gotten used to the new house, sure I still don't know where everything is in the kitchen and yeah sometimes I get lost going to the lounge but other than that everything is perfect. Dan had offered to stay home to wait for Isabella to get off the bus with Dil as I had to run into the city for a few groceries and two different surprises, both Dan, and the kids were unaware of.
After gathering all the groceries I double checked my phone to make sure I had the right address before pulling into someone's driveway. Hesitantly I knocked on the door as the delightful sound of barking filled my ears. A short redheaded, tattooed lady opened the door, "Phillip?" I nodded as she smiled, "C'mon in" she was very kind and instructed me on everything I would need to do. She helped me carry two crates to my vehicle, behind the crates were two bags of food and water bowls along with leashes and toys as well as bedding that I had bought earlier. She then led me to her backyard as her boyfriend who I had talked to on the phone brought over two beautiful puppies. A Corgi and a Shiba Inu. I was already aware that they were both fixed and that the Corgi was a male but the Shiba Inu was a female. I handed them over an envelope of money as I thanked them. Once both animals were in the crates I shut the door and got in the driver's seat.
I had texted Dan that I was close to home and to get the kids and meet me outside, his response was, of course, filled with worry but I assured him it was nothing to worry about. Within moments I found myself pulling into my long gravel driveway to see Dan and both our kids with confused looks. After I parked the van I got out, "Phil?"
"Stay there," I waved as I opened the trunk. I had the van so they couldn't see what was in the trunk but with the looks on their faces, they sure as hell could hear what was in there. I quickly opened the crates and put both dogs down on the ground, they ran towards Dan and the kids and all I could hear were several, 'AW~!'s' I came around the vehicle to see Dan, Dil, and Isabella all down on their knees embracing and petting their new family members. "They don't have names yet." I smiled as all three of them looked up at me, "The Corgi is a boy and the Shiba Inu is a girl."
Isabella looked at Dil and then back at me, "Dil and I get to name the Corgi, you and Daddy get to name the Shiba Inu!" her voice was filled with joy as Dil whispered into her ear and she nodded. "We want to name the Corgi, Peanut." I nodded while laughing, as Dil started chanting 'Peanut'.
Dan laughed as he got to his feet and pulled me close. "What should we call the Shiba Inu?" I smiled and kissed his cheek, "Should we name her, Molly?"
I smiled and nodded, "Molly sounds beautiful."

I went to the trunk and handed Dil and Isabella two collars, a blue one and a pink one. They quickly placed them onto the dogs and immediately started running around with them. I felt Dan's hand on my waist as I laid my head on his shoulder smiling. "Phil, what do you think?" he smiled as his hazel eyes met mine.
"Honestly Dan," I sighed, "after everything we've been through. I think this is a well deserved happy ending." I looked into his eyes before passionately kissing him.
