Dan's POV

*A Day Later*

My heart was complete again. Like the void in my soul had been filled by Phil just opening his eyes. It was two in the afternoon, Phil was sound asleep, like a baby lamb. Sure I was allowed to go home but I couldn't leave Phil here alone, thankfully, Chris and Pj were able to let the kids stay at their place and take them to school and such. I mean Phil and I are so bloody blessed to have such great friends that'll be there when we aren't. Honestly, I probably should've been asleep too but I couldn't my mind was too awake. I couldn't wrap my brain around what Phil had said earlier about being out of his body and...my heart stopping. Why was I not informed of this? Did my heart actually stop? Slowly, I sat up and decided that the doctors must have had a reason for not telling me. I made my way down to the information desk and asked the nice lady sitting there if I could speak with one of the doctors that looked after me. She led me down a hallway and into his office, "Hello Mr. Howell-Lester"  he motioned for me to sit. He smiled, I couldn't, I was too confused by the situation. "so Daniel what seems to be the problem?" His voice was calm and collective.

I sighed, "Well, you see my husband, Phil, woke up the other day and he said he had an 'out of body experience' sort of thing. Anyway, the reason I'm here is that he said...my...he said that my heart stopped several times..." the doctor's eyes widened, "Is this true?"

He sighed before grabbing a file from the side of his desk and handing it to me, "I'm afraid it is Daniel" the file was fairly large and my name was written on the cover, leading me to believe that this was my hospital file. Inside there were medical records from ALL of my visits and all of the records from Phil and I's previous kidnapping nine years ago, the second one and the recent events. "You and Phil have both suffered traumatic experiences and it seems that your heart was ready to give up." I felt myself shaking, "Every time we had you stabilized, your heart would stop. We ran some tests but we found nothing, no cause for these spasms."

"T-Then w-what is g-going to happen to m-me?" My voice was shaking as if my grip on reality started to slip through my fingers. The doctor sighed, staying silent, I felt the anger boiling over and my sadness flooding my eyes, "What.Is.Going.To.Happen.To.Me.?"

"Daniel there is no reason to-"

"NO REASON!? MY BLOODY HEART STOPPED BEATING AND FURTHERMORE, MY HUSBAND HAD TO TELL ME THIS INSTEAD OF A FUCKING DOCTOR WHO WITNESSED IT! NO FOR THE LAST FUCKING TIME! WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO ME!?" I shouted, quickly cutting him off. Hot tears were streaming down my cheeks as a nurse rushed into the doorway, the doctor waved his hand dismissing her.

The doctor stood up and walked over to his cabinet and pulled out four small files and handed them to me. "I'm afraid Daniel at this moment, this is all we can do and offer to you" his voice sounded sincere, however, his half-ass smiled said otherwise. I nodded, quickly getting up from my seat and leaving his office like my life depended on it.

I returned to Phil's room. Only to find a groggy Phil slowly nibbling down on pudding and pancakes. A small smile formed on his face as his eyes met mine, I felt my smile slowly fade as he pushed his tray aside and opened his arms up. Soon, I found myself running into his embrace. His long pale arms wrapped around me, my head buried in the crook of his neck as his slender fingers ran slowly through my hair. He must've known I hadn't got the answer I was hoping for from the doctor because he soon whispered in my ear, "it's going to be okay" before his lips met mine.
