Phil's POV

*That Night*

I swear I wanted to punch Dan more than I did, what he did to me earlier almost killed me. I can understand where he was coming from though, it was actually quite funny when I think back on it. We were all cuddled together on the sofa when Isabella was skyping Dan.  "Dad? Daddy?" her picture was a bit fuzzy but at least we knew she was safe. Dil quickly joined her in the picture,

"Hi, Dad! Hi Daddy!" We could hear my mom in the background telling Isabella to say 'hi' for them. It was reassuring to know that they were happy...and safe.

Dan's hand held mine, "How is everything at the Lester house?"  they smiled and laughed,

"It's good," Isabella leaned closer to the screen, smiling, smiling, "lots of cookies I'll tell ya that much" she and Dil started laughing as Dan and I smiled, my head rested on his shoulder. "How are things there? It looks pretty bland there, to be honest" she must've noticed the pale walls.

I coughed and looked up at Dan, "We moved everything into our storage shed an hour away" Dan smiled at me, "and your father almost killed me when I got back by pretending to be dead" Dan started laughing as I playfully punched his shoulder/chest area. Isabella and Dil were laughing as my mom and dad joined them on the couch.

"Well you boys stay together yes?" my mom was always watching out for us, even after almost ten years of marriage, we nodded, "Oh, and be safe" Dan smiled and thanked her for being herself.

*1 AM*

We must've fallen asleep on the couch because when I woke up, Dan's head was buried in my chest. I didn't naturally wake up, no, Dan and I both woke up at the same time to our building shaking, people screaming, sirens blazing and the fact that the air was very thin. "Phil!?" our roof started cracking, "PHIL!" Dan quickly lunged out of bed and threw me across the room as the roof fell on top of him.

"DAN!?" I rushed towards the rubble, "DAN!?" vigorously I started lifting rubble off of his body, "DAN!? SPEAK TO ME PLEASE!" his hand grabbed hold of mine as I pulled him up to his feet. Blood covering half of his face whilst the other half dusty and scratched up. "Oh my god Dan!" he quickly pulled me close and buried his head in my neck,

"Shh...I'm okay Phil"

I wasted no time, I squeezed his hands, "We have to get out of here" the air was so thin I was already struggling to breathe. Dan nodded as we grabbed our phones and rushed towards the door. When we made it to the door we were slightly surprised it wasn't boiling hot but we didn't have time to question it. "Dan you're not going to like this," he shot me a concerned and an 'are you serious' face, "we're gonna have to run down the stairs"

His eyes left mine and starred at the many, many flights of stairs in front of him, he sighed as he looked towards the ceiling, "Are you fucking kidding me right now!?" I think he was talking to God. I laughed as he turned to me, "Shut up," he grabbed my hand and looked behind as the room lit up in flames and the ceiling started to cave in on itself, "Let's go!" We both wasted no time as we began to dash down the stairs as flames chased us from all around. We were about halfway to the bottom level when the flames had caught up to us. Just as we were about to ascend to the next flight of stairs the roof caved in right in front of us. Flames spewing everywhere, burning wood blocking our exit.

Suddenly, Dan swiftly picked me up in his arms, "D-Dan!?" his eyes were overflowing with worry and fear, "DAN!? WHAT ARE YOU-" before I could finish Dan threw me over the fire and near the door. Quickly, I got to my feet and turned back to Dan, "DAN! C'mon!" tears started forming in my eyes.

"I can't Phil!" hot tears started streaming down my cheeks, "I won't make it! Just go! Go, Phil! I'll find another way!"

"NO! I'M NOT LEAVING YOU! IF I GO YOU GO! WE GO TOGETHER OR NOT AT ALL!" I knew he wasn't going to agree with me but I had hoped he would, "PLEASE DAN!"  Before he could even answer me the roof caved in overtop of him, "DAN!!!"

"GO PHIL! GO!" he was still alive under that burning rubble...I had a choice...go and be safe...or I could go back and save my husband...Which one do you think I picked?

Wasting no time I quickly rushed back up the stairs towards Dan. Fear of losing Dan was my main emotion right now but the pain of the fire touching my body was starting to mix in as well, my fingers burning as I struggled to move the burning wood out of the path to Dan. When I finally moved enough wood out of the way I found that the air was ten times thinner than it had been twenty minutes ago, which caused me to take slow and deep breaths trying to spare my oxygen. I lifted a large panel off of Dan's body, "Dan!?" he had passed out, hesitantly I started performing CPR hoping he would wake up. "C'mon Dan!" As much as it was killing me to breathe, the thought of Dan dying here was killing me one hundred times more.

Finally, he gasped for air, "P-Phil!?" I smiled and pulled him close, my tears falling on to his shirt, "You fucking twat! I thought I told you to run!?" his eyes met mine,

"I couldn't leave you"
