ch 20 - A question on Patroni

"Guys," Remus said seriously. "We need to talk about the professor."

James nodded; his smile faded as he saw Remus's grim expression.

"Alright," he replied.

"What's up Moonpie?" asked Sirius.

"I mean, guys. Surely you've noticed how mysterious he is. It's like he knows everything about us." Remus started.

Sirius furrowed his eyebrows. "Yeah, he is rather strange isn't he?"

"Like, how Parker knew about your furry little problem. How would he know about that? Other than us, only Evans, Dumbledore and Minnie know, and surely they wouldn't have told Parker," James said.

"Someone must have told him," said Sirius.

"But who?" James wondered out loud.

"Dunno mate," said Sirius. The only ones who know about it are me, you Remus, Wormtail, Lily, Dumbledore, Minnie"-

"And Snape," James said coldly, interrupting Sirius.

"Oh yeah. I nearly forgot that Snivellus knows our secret."

"Says the one who told Snape about Remus in the first place!" growled James. Sirius flinched.

"Prongs," Sirius said quietly. "I already said I'm sorry."

There was a long moment of silence, whilst Sirius pleadingly looked at James.

James shook his head. "Ok fine, I'm sorry guys."

"But why would Snape tell Harry?" asked Sirius, changing the topic.

"Maybe, to take revenge from the prank you pulled on him during defense class?" answered James.

"Urgh! I'll hex that slime ball so hard that --" Sirius began, but Remus stopped him.

"But I don't think it was Snape."

"Oh come on Moony. Why are you always taking Snape's side?"

"Because, Harry also knew about the map and James's animagus form. Remember? And Snape doesn't know about that stuff." Remus argued.

"Don't forget that he's a legilimens though," Sirius pointed out, and James nodded in agreement.

"Yeah I know, but I don't think that Snape is behind any of this. Why would he tell Harry all our secrets like all of a sudden? Remember that time in first year, we thought he was hatching a plan with Voldemort? And he turned out to be saving our lives, instead!"

"Yeah Moony, but he only wanted to save us because Evans came with us, and --" James started, but didn't finish.

"You know, the best way to find out what's up is to ask him. Harry's genuinely a nice guy, he won't bite," Sirius shrugged.

"Um, but Sirius, you're a nice guy, and you bite," Remus joked.

"He is the opposite of nice," said James darkly. Sirius let out a playful dog-like growl. "Bloody hell Paddy, it's a joke. But yeah, I don't see what's wrong in asking him."
