Chapter 18-A fortunate unfortunate event

Jillian’s POV

Am I crazy? No… Well, maybe. Yeah, I’m crazy. I’m so effin crazy. This isn’t necessary. I can just turn around and he’ll never know.

Knock. Knock.

A half naked Dan opened the door. “Hey Jillian.”

“Hello. Can I come in?”

“Yeah sure.”

“Danny! Who’s at the door sweetie?” A woman’s voice called.

I smirked. “Danny?” I mouthed earning me a glare.

An elegant woman walked towards us. She had hazel eyes and honey colored hair.

“Oh! Hello dear! I’m Danny’s mother. And you are?”

“I’m Jillian.” I smiled, shaking her hand.

Her eyes widened considerably as she shot Dan a knowing grin.

“Oh goodness gracious, Jillian!” She exclaimed.

I was confused and couldn’t help but chuckle at her inexplicable excitement.

“Yes, Mrs. Adams?”

“Oh nonsense, call me Anna. Mrs. Adams makes me feel old. Anyways, I’m just so happy I finally get to meet the girl my son keeps talking about.”

I raised an eyebrow. “He talks about me, does he?”

She nodded feverishly. “Oh yes! All the time! It’s downright adorable!” She gushed, pinching Dan’s cheeks while he shot her daggers.

“Honey, I think you’ve embarrassed our son enough.” A middle aged man chuckled. He was tall and resembled Hank very much. Dan looked like him too, but he looked more like his mother.

The man is probably their father.

Sorry, I’m being stupid. He is their father.

“Okay, we’re leaving now.” Dan declared, clearly pissed at his mother. He grabbed my arm and pulled me to the door.

“Where are you going Danny?” His mother inquired.

“I don’t know, the park maybe.”

“Alright I love you!”

“I love you too.” He grumbled.

That made me smile like a kid on Christmas day.

“What?” He accused.

“I just think it’s so cute that you’re openly close to your mom.”

He shrugged. “I’m assuming you are too.”

I forced a smile.

We walked to the park in silence.

“Hey, you’re still shirtless.” I pointed out.

“Yeah, I know.”

“And you don’t mind?”

He smirked. “No, do you?”

“Nah, you should walk around like this all the time.” I smiled.

“Are you sure you should be flirting with me when you’re with Dmitri?” He asked uncertainly.

“That’s why I came to see you.”

Dan’s POV

“You came here to tell me that you and Dmitri are over?” I asked, both surprised and hopeful.
