Samar opened the door for Meera and stepped back for her to enter

He watched her walking in with a little hesitation, she's been inside his apartment before, but now she was going to live with him, she was going to be with him, all the time

Samar wiped his sweaty palms against his jeans, being with Meera always made him nervous, she was nothing like any woman he's been with, she was everything he ever wanted, and even though she was a trouble magnet that messed up all his plans, he thought that she was a beautiful mess that made his life perfect

His house was decent, for him at least, not for a woman to live in, definitely not for Meera, it was so colds and lifeless compared to hers, which was cozy and welcoming, with the bright colors and the soothing floral smell that hit your senses the minute you cross the door

His apartment was a place you live in, hers was a "home"

"Please, Make yourself at home, I'll go get the bags" he said and went back outside

Meera smiled politely, waking up this morning, she never thought she'll end up living with Samar, the man who she started off, fearing and ended up adoring, and the opposite applied on Jay, the man who she thought that she loved the one she thought will always protect her, ended up attacking her, and trying to rape her

She walked to the kitchen counter, where there was a cup with coffee sludge at the bottom, she picked it up, drawing circles on the rim with her fingers thinking that it was probably from last night, but it was really late when he left her apartment, if he drank that, he must've slept in the early hours of the morning

She felt so bad for him, he must've just gotten in bed when he received her horrific call

Meera looked around while waiting for Samar to return, she had only been here once, and her first impression of the place was pretty good, it had a really nice atmosphere, the grey shades of the furniture added so much depth to the plain white walls, there were a couple of black leather armchair opposite the large sofa, complementing the whole sexy, masculine theme of the place that was the best reflection of Samar's personality

What was really impressive for Meera, is that it was relatively clean and organized for a guy's apartment, but what was strange is that there wasn't anything personal, no family photos on the walls or on any of the shelves, and also there wasn't anything that showed his hobbies or interests except maybe for some books and the music records collections that he was displayed next to the sound system in a corner of his living room

"Be careful with that, it's original" Samar's voice came from across the hall, and Meera quickly put the record back down "I'm Sorry, you really like Frank Sinatra, you have all his records"

Samar put down her bags and walked to her with a soft smile, he picked up the record, the one she was holding, "Well, most of them, they're my father's, it's the only thing I have left of him" Meera looked around in curiosity "Do you have any pictures of him?!"

"Only one, next to my bed" Samar said pointing his head to the room at the end of the hallway "Come with me"

He picked up Meera's bags, and went to his bedroom where she followed him, Meera's eyes roamed the room, and she noticed what a good taste Samar have for home decoration, it was similar to the rest of the house, same white walls except for the one behind his bed it was a lighter shade of grey, it was simple yet chic, he placed the bags next to his unmade bed, and picked up a photo frame that was on his night stand and handed it to Meera

Meera tilted her head, looking at the picture, it was a picture of Samar in a police uniform standing next to his father, and a smile gradually formed on her lips, it was the way Samar and his father were smiling in the picture, it was the most genuine smile she had ever seen, they looked really happy
