"Good morning." I gave her a small smile.

When I got to the kitchen I wasn't expecting anyone to be in there, but much to my dismay, Emma was pouring herself a bowl of cereal.

I inhaled a silent breath before walking in, going to the coffee maker on the other side of the kitchen.

I heard her sharp intake of breath when she noticed me, and I could feel her eyes on me.

I squeezed my eyes shut tight, flexing my muscles until my coffee stopped brewing and i grabbed the mug, yanking it off the tray and walking as fast as I could out of the kitchen.

When I got to the stairs I passed Jamie who shot me a glare.

I just shook my head and went back to my room, closing the door.

I set the coffee cup on the nightstand after taking a sip, laying back on the bed.

Being with Emma was already uncharted territory for me, but now it was like I was in uncharted territory with a blindfold on and I was going down a whirlpool.

I groaned.

This was not how I thought last night would go.

I mean, how the fuck could she possibly be in love with me?

What could I have done to make her love me?

But as my mind ran over all of the possibilities, I realised the fact that we were even together was the reason why. I had given her the opportunity to fall in love with me by being her boyfriend, I just hadn't realised it.

Suddenly my bedroom door opened and I looked to see Mila coming in, running up to me and jumping on the bed.

"What are you doing in here?" I asked her as she crawled up onto me.

"I want to play puppies." She said, her small hands pressing against my stomach as she leaned over to look at what was on my nightstand.

"You want to go okay with the dogs?" I asked and she nodded. "Do you want me to go with you?"

She nodded again.

"Okay, let's go play." I picked her up, grabbing my coffee cup to take it with me as I went to find the two dogs with Mila.

We found Lion and Tiger in the living room, and used the tennis balls they used as toys and played fetch with them.

Mila squealed when Lion ran up to her and playfully jumped at her, but I moved her away until the dog settled down.

During our fetch game I looked up to see Emma coming down the stairs with her mom, Emma in a light pink dress and matching coat.

She avoided my eyes completely and instead followed her mom out the front door.

A minute later Jamie came downstairs.

"Do you know where she went?" I asked him.

"Out." Jamie popped back with an attitude. "Why do you care?"
