"Hello, this is Women of Health Center, how can I assist you today?"

"Hi. I just found out I was pregnant and I was wondering if I could make an appointment for tomorrow to check on the baby."

"Of course. Can I get your full name please?"

"Anabelle Marie Thompson," I replied.

It was silent until the lady began speaking again.

"Okay. I have a spot open for tomorrow at 4pm. Does that sound good?"

"Yes. Thank you." I hung up the phone and gently threw it to the side. "There. I have an appointment for tomorrow at four. You happy?"

"Very happy," She grinned. It was silent for awhile until Lianne decided to speak. "Sorry that Sean didn't take it well. It would of been nice to have his support as well."

"Yeah I know," I sighed. "But there's no need for you to say sorry."

"When are you telling your dad?" She questioned.

"Sometime this week."

She nodded as she set her phone down on my nightstand. "Let's watch a movie before I go home."

"Okay. What movie do you have in mind?" She shrugged her shoulders. "How about we just watch Mean Girls. We never get tired of watching that movie."

"Of course," I smiled.

"That is so fetch!" Lianne said, mimicking Gretchen Wieners. I laughed and shook my head at her. I put the movie in the dvd player and turned on the tv.

"Gretchen, stop trying to make fetch happen. It's not going to happen." I said, mimicking Regina George.

We both laughed as we got comfortable on my bed. "This movie will never get old," Lianne said, laughing lightly.

"Totally."

"Anabelle." I heard a nurse call for me. I put down the issue of People's magazine and quickly stood up. I walked towards the nurse and followed her to a small room.

"Please sit down on the bed, a doctor should be with you shortly." I nodded before thanking her.

I placed my purse on the chair and began looking at all the pamphlets. I grabbed one on Breastfeeding and one on Circumcising.

I sat down on the small bed and began reading through the pamphlets. That was until I heard a knock on the door. I looked up and saw the doctor come in. "Hello Anabelle. I'm Dr. Reynolds. I'll be checking up on you throughout the whole pregnancy."

He extended his hand out for me to shake. "Hello Dr. Reynolds. Very pleased to meet you," I said, while shaking his hand.

Dr. Reynolds sat down in his rolling chair, looking down at his clipboard. "Well, it says here you're seventeen. Did you graduate high school?"

I shook my head. "I graduate in five months. It's been stressful."

"Well, don't be stressed. Stress is bad for the baby. Make a schedule or lower down the amount of work you do. If you have a job, work at least one to two hours less than you usually do."

"Okay."

"Alright, let's get started. First we're going to do a ultrasound to indicate how many weeks you are and to get you a clear picture of your baby. You ready?"

I nodded.

"Very well. I need you to lay down and lift up your shirt for me."

I laid down and lifted up my shirt, so that it's halfway across my stomach. I shifted my body around until I was finally comfortable.

I watched as Dr. Reynolds turned on the ultrasound machine and sat back down in his rolling chair. He squirt a really cold gel onto the lower part of my abdomen, which caused me to shiver.

"Sorry," He grinned. "I should of probably warned you it was cold."

"It's fine," I smiled at him.

He took the wand and placed it on my abdomen. He moved the wand around and turned to me. "I see the father isn't here," He pointed out, trying to make conversation.

"Yeah," I sighed. "He's not in the picture at the very moment. I'm going through this solo, I guess. Not unless he changes his mind."

"Well, you have support right?" He questioned and I nodded. "Yes, my best friend is going to help me out. Hopefully, my dad as well. I haven't quite told him that I'm having a baby."

He nodded. "Well, you have to tell him sooner or later. Oh, there's your baby." I looked at the screen in awe. My baby was so tiny. Like a peanut.

"Looks like you're seven weeks, almost eight. I'll print you a picture." He said, pausing the screen. He printed the picture and handed it to me. I carefully took the picture from his hands, continuing to look at it.

Everything seemed so real now. Dr. Reynolds handed me a paper towel and I quickly wiped the gel off of my stomach.

"Alright, before you leave. Do have any questions or concerns?" He asked, as I sat up. "I read online that pregnant women have morning sickness yet, I don't have it. Is that normal?"

"It's perfectly normal. All pregnancies are different. Some women have morning sickness, other women don't," He explained.

"Okay. When do I come back for another appointment?"

"Come back in four to five weeks," He answered.

"Okay. Thank you Dr. Reynolds."

He smiled as he shook my hand. "Anytime. See you in a few weeks Miss Thompson."

He grabbed his clipboard and left the room. I carefully got off the bed, quickly grabbing my purse from the chair. I looked down at the ultrasound picture once more before leaving the doctor's office.

Lianne is gonna freak when she sees this picture. I laughed lightly to myself as I made my way out of the doctor's office.
