Chapter 18

"Seth, what happened?" Yami asks waking up on his own bed "Someone knocked you out and stole the puzzle" Seth says, so Yami shoots into a sitting position "That person said Bakura had Ruby, but that she escaped" he says. "Ruby might have been injured" he adds "Too much thinking" "Pharaoh, you need to rest" Seth points out, knowing that it was slightly impossible by now "We will find Ruby, Isis is already looking" he adds.

The next day they head to where Isis saw Ruby in a vision, Kul Elna "Pharaoh!" she says hugging him tightly "I was worried, Bakura has al the items" she adds so Yami hugs back "Split up, Ruby do you know where he is?" "Yes, but it's dangerous" she says, but it seems there's no stopping him so she quietly follows him "Ruby, go back to the palace" he says earning a sigh "As you wish" she says and disappears, now all she had to do was wait until all hell broke loose, meaning Zork, but she's out of luck when her energy runs out so she's forced to go to her room "Ugh" she mumbles "And with Zork I need all the energy I can get, maybe I shouldn't have practiced so much spells", she lets herself fall on her bed and she closes her eyes for a few seconds, but she falls asleep.

She's woken up again by screaming outside and she gets up to check, disappearing and appearing next to Seth "Just so you know, I'm not planning to hang around if it's not needed" she says, she summons her phoenix, rainbow phoenix and dragon and she says "These guys will protect you, I have a score to settle with that monster", she dashes off and and she says "Hey Zork, remember me?" "You won't win" he says, however he can't dodge the meteor and Ruby has her second spell ready by the time Zork is focusing on her again "And I'm far from finished" she says, but she has to jump sideway as he ignores her "That did it" she mumbles trowing her massive fireball at the creature that's way too big "Ruby stop it, don't tire yourself out" Seth says, but Ruby isn't listening and she soon lands next to him "Okay, he got a burn mark, should've keps aiming there" she says raising a giant wall of fire around the city "The wall will hold, let's go" she says and runs off, only to run into Seto "Watch it" she says and gets up again "Ruby?" Seto asks, Seth had gone ahead "Yes, but I'm a little busy" she says and she sees her creatures attacking Zork "Stop staring" she says and sighs "If that giant wall of fire disappears, try to distract him" she says and she disappears "Mana how are things here?" she asks appearing next to her and Yami "The Pharaoh has to help us" she says and first her phoenix goes, then her dragon and then her second phoenix "Crap" she says and she sees Seto calling his ultimate blue eyes white dragon "Yep we're screwed" Ruby says "My fire didn't even scratch him that much", she looks down and says "And I still can't protect him" "That's not true" Yami says hugging her "You did your best" "Which isn't enough" Ruby says "I can't use the spell that would blind him since there's no sun" "Well our god monsters failed us already" Yami mumbles, he looks at Ruby and smiles at her "Go for it". Ruby jumps down turning into a phoenix and she stops above Seto's dragon where she changes back "A little distraction please" she says letting her sword appear which starts glowing brightly "Whatever you say Ruby, just don't die" he says as his dragon shoots at Zork again "No promises" she says, once her sword stops glowing any brighter she says "Wish me luck", she jumps down and runs off again, the only clue to where she is being her sword, her sword collides with Zorks hand and both as thrown backwards, Ruby a lot more though "Ruby!" Seto says and he sighs in relief seeing she's alright "I'm good, kinda" she mumbles sitting up "You got even faster" Silver says appearing next to her "You say it like it's a bad thing" she says standing up "I'll be heading back with her" Silver says, but Ruby whispers something in his ear "Alright then, we'll see you then" he says ruffling her hair "On second thought, she can stay, she's not done yet it seems" he says and disappears again "No more gods for Egypt after this" Ruby says and she moves to fighting position "Ruby thank goodness you're here" Joey says running over with his friends "And you ruined my concentration" Ruby says with a facepalm "Sorry" Yugi says "Is the Pharaoh save?" "I'm offended you asked" Ruby says crossing her arms "Of course he is" she adds, however she really runs out of energy when she starts fading out and back in "Guess I'll see you guys back in the present" she says and adds "Or not, who knows, tell the Pharaoh I'm sorry for never telling him his name", she disappears and Yugi says "Guess she stayed too long" "Probably" Yami says.

Ruby falls out of the portal and against Drake, who was busy destroying the other portals "Stupid realm threw me out" she says and sighs "Sorry Drake" she mumbles as they both get up "Silver said you might be back soon" Drake points out, so Ruby lets a meteor hit the room after they left, finding the others is easy and Summer hugs Ruby "Are you coming with us?" she asks, but Silver says "She has to destroy the items and her spell won't work if she's already gone" "I will also destroy this place, without any gods to rule it it's going to break apart anyway and fall down, as least if I destroy it I can make sure all the important things are gone" Ruby says, she was going to miss their floating island, but there was nothing she could do about it "Goodbye" she says stepping away from the group and Silver says "Take care Ruby". She heads back to Egypt after sealing their world away and she lays on the sand, she knew she could, they would all be reborn anyway, with part of their memories, it's why she wanted to use that specific spell. "Welcome back" Ruby says seeing Seto "Gate threw me out for safety" she explains and she looks at her outfit, changing it to something casual for that time "We'll meet again, don't worry about that, the question is if we will remember you" she says as Seto pulls her up "Already dropped by the temple before I left home" she says looking at Ishizu. "Atem's quiet" Yugi mumbles, so Ruby crosses her arms "He's not coming out?" she asks earning a no "I guess we'll see, who did become Pharaoh according to that tablet?" "You, for a few years, after that priest Seth" Atem says and Ruby hugs him "Thank you Ruby" he says "Just doing my job" she whispers "The final test will be waiting for you" Ishizu says, but Ruby steps back and she says "I won't be watching that, there's a chance he won't pass on, plus I missed way too much sunlight in the realm of memories. And yes there was a day when the sun came up too late, blame Silver for that" she says and they head off "Also Ruby... Sorry for trying to..." Marik trails off, but Ruby jumps on his back "It happened, I don't hold it against you" she says with a smile, while in truth she wanted to cry, she was going to miss everyone, mostly Seto and Mokuba.
