Chapter 2.5

Mana is walking around the city looking for the young prince "Look!" a few people says and she looks up to see a fire in the form of a phoenix coming down and she runs over "What's a girl like you gonna do to protect him?" a male asks and Ruby raises an eyebrow "Let's see, I was in the middle of combat class when I noticed you were putting him in anger, so seeing as I'm still carrying my sword around I can hurt you pretty badly" she says moving to defense stance and Mana runs of to either get Mahad or Seth after seeing Ruby got it covered. Seth arrives and sees Ruby wiping some blood from her arm and those guys on the ground and the girl's eyes surprisingly dark "Never ever hurt him again" she says and her sword disappears and Seth runs over to check them both for injuries "Ruby, please don't be so stupid again" he says seeing several cuts on the girls arms "That wasn't stupid" Ruby says and she adds "If I ever decide to seal a monster of the gods on my own you can call me stupid, but that never stopped me anyway". They go to the castle where Isis and Mahad run over "I found something you lost" Ruby points out bluntly pointing to the young prince who insisted on carrying her back since she got minor injuries because of him "I saw that, nice outfit" Mahad says pointing tot he armor that Ruby is wearing "Thanks, it's not as heavy as it looks, it came when I took my sword from the armory" "Armor that comes with the sword, that's new" Isis says, but Ruby says "Not really, we gods use it all the time", as a thanks for saving his son the Pharaoh invited Ruby to stay for dinner "So... how did you know my son was in trouble?" the Pharaoh asks and Ruby sighs "Simply put, I'm his protector, you lost yours in a war of the gods, children will get children as protectors so they're around the same age when they meet, makes bonding a lot easier and I'm not sure why I got chosen to protect your son, I'm still in the middle of all my lessons, combat and magic" "Well I'm glad he didn't get hurt, I might hire you as his personal bodyguard" the Pharaoh says causing Ruby to shake her head "We can't stay here for long at my age, but I'll consider the offer when I'm older".

She heads back after hugging Mana and the young prince goodbye and she says "See you again, someday, I hope not too soon though", back home she's greeted by her older brother who hugs her "I though you got seriously hurt" he says and Ruby chuckles "The Pharaoh invited me to stay for dinner because I saved his son, just did what I had to do" she says and hugs back "Come on, we have magic lessons, dual seals to be precise, but before that, father needed us for something". They arrive at the meeting room and Ra says "I called you here for a reason, as you may have noticed I have ordered for all the lessons to be more advanced" "We noticed" Horus says and Ra sighs "I did this because a danger is approaching us all, and our only hope are our children, Ruby for example was a month away from seals, but we need to seal this monster before it does too much damage" "Even though she hasn't covered that yet she has the potential to already practice them, the group lessons will be held in the courtyard starting tomorrow, so no unneeded trips away and no lingering around" Osiris says and Ruby looks down "I understand, I guess this means that our combat lessons will be tripled as well" she says and they nod, so they head of.

Mana is looking at the sky that evening and sighs, she couldn't tell her childhood friend that she got the feeling they wouldn't see Ruby anytime soon again, especially not after overhearing Isis with her vision of a darkness worse then any of them has seen before "Just stay save" she mumbles and a single red feather appears on her head so she heads back inside "Mana are you alright?" Mahad asks and Mana says "Just worried we won't see Ruby again for a while".

Ruby looks down on the palace from the balcony and she clenches her fist at the sight of Mana so down, she heads back inside and hears thunder in the distance so she turns back around "I know they said they would give us random practice, but this doesn't really seem like it" she mumbles and she runs back inside to warn the others "Brother!" she calls seeing him "I heard thunder" she says and she stops to catch her breath "I think we don't have any time at all" she says and the sky turns dark "Ruby, go find dad", Ruby runs of and she searches the entire place "Ruby where's your brother?" Osiris asks and Ruby says "Thunder, monsters", she was getting tired "Go to the portals, meet the others in Egypt, let the adults handle this, you will be our last line of defense" the god says and Ruby closes her eyes "The young prince is in danger" she says and says "I'll take the easy way", she disappears and sees the other gods and goddesses in training meeting around the castle where the people are taking shelter "The prince ran of to get some children that are stuck" Seth says and Ruby sighs "That's twice I have to save him in one day" she mumbles, a few minutes she returns with the prince and the children "Uh Ruby, why are they coming down if our parents are up there fighting?" a girl says and Ruby says "Well they either lost are outnumbered, I just hope it's the last one", Mana runs over and says "But we can't fight all those things" "You can't, we can, we're trained for those situations, just not this soon, heck I only learned about sealing today" Ruby mumbles and she kneels in front of Mana who fell down "Keep him save, that's all you have to do" she says, it was time to fight somewhere else then home.
