Elizabeth sighed quietly. The household was lonely without anyone there. Her mother was now in the hospital for at least a week due to complications with her pregnancy. She then flicked through her book, not really reading. At that moment, one of the newly arrived maids knocked on her door. She jumped, rather startled. 'Golly, I had quite forgotten that Henrietta would be arriving today!' she thought to herself before quickly tying her dressing - gown tighter.
"Come in..."
"Oh, Miss Elizabeth," Henrietta bowed politely. "There is a letter from Miss Arabella Buckley." Elizabeth smiled, glad that her friend had even bothered to write to her in the last few weeks of the holiday.
"Thanks, Henry." The maid nodded, blushing slightly at the name.
"A pleasure..." and she saw herself out. As soon as she was gone, Lizzy opened the letter.
