Everyone hugged Joan, saying goodbye to her and wishing her well. Many of her friends such as Belinda, Jennifer, Arabella, Elizabeth, Julian and Rosemary gave her their addresses and phone numbers. "Write to me, please!" little Rosemary said.
"I will old girl," Joan replied, feeling sad to go.
Suddenly, at that moment, Miss Belle and Miss Best came into the hall where everyone was about to party. "Everyone in the fourth form please gather together!" The children did so and everyone quickly gathered what it was for. Miss Belle put the camera to shoot... the teachers quickly ran behind and a beautiful last photo was presented soon after to all the children.
Everyone had a great time at the party, and although everyone and Joan herself were happy for her, they felt quite sad that she would be leaving. They knew that she had a talent for dance and singing and would do very well at her new school.
After the party, Joan slotted her photo into the album. "My last photograph of my friends... and maybe even the last time I ever see them. I'll still write, obviously..."
