Maisie was the only one awake that night. She had been wanting to cause trouble. "I have a great idea!" she thought, "I will steal from everyone and say it was Elizabeth! I envy Eliz! She is so popular while I am a commoner!"
She quickly but quietly got out of bed. She headed towards Arabella and smiled. She picked up Arabella's pearl necklace and placed it in Elizabeth's draw.
"Who is gonna be a commoner now?!" she said under her breath.
Creeping back to her bed, she accidentally let something fall from her pocket...
Waking up, Arabella looked around in surprise and saw the room empty except for the children sleeping. "Oh well!" she thought and went back to sleep.
