It was the most fun she had ever had. Well, she had no idea what had actually happened, she was too young to know she had met actual monsters. But kitty and his little green friend didn't seem like monsters at all. At least to little Boo they didn't.

"Kitty?" She had called when the door closed.

No reply. Maybe it was what her parents called a dream. But it felt so real. It had to be real. Kitty would show up through the door any second.

Any second now...

She wouldn't open the door. She wouldn't touch the door. She wouldn't let anybody touch it either. Kitty was sleeping, and would simply open the door when he was ready to come out.

And that's what Boo carried with her, her entire life.

Boo was seven years old now, about to start her first day at her new school. She did the same thing she did every morning.

"Kitty?" She called, looking at the door.

She gave an exaggerated sigh. "You've been sleeping for a while now."

"Boo! Have you taken a bath already? I didn't hear the water!" Her mom yelled from downstairs.

"No Mommy."

It was the morning of Boo's twelfth birthday party, and she had a lot to plan.
