It was a sunny afternoon, Rick had nearly finished one of his major projects and decided to give his lovely wife a visit. He had given you heads up earlier, and you couldn't help but stick your head out the window and smile at his near arrival. You went outside and hugged him and to your surprise he spun you before putting you down. A genuine smile was placed on both lips, "Look around look around at how lucky we are to be alive right now, look around look around." you sang, he looked down at your stomach to see a barely noticeable but growing bump. You couldn't help but flush, his eyes turned up to you "How long have you known..." "A month or so" "You should have t-told me" "I wrote to 'bout a month ago" "No" "I begged them to send you home" you said, the blush on your face got slightly brighter as he came closer "you should have told me" he said, your genuine smile turned devious "I'm not sorry, I knew you'd work till the work was done" "it's not done" "And you deserve a chance to meet your son" you stepped back and looked at him "Look around looks around, at how lucky we are to be alive right now" you said with teary eyes, "you relish being a sad man's wife? Unable to provide for your life" "I relish being your wife!! Look around, look around, look at where you are, look at where you started the fact that you're alive is a miracle, just stay alive, that would be enough! And if this child, shares a fraction of your smile, or a fragment of your mind...look out world that would be enough!!" you said with a joyous smile, "I don't pretend to know, the challenges you're facing, the world's you keep erasing and creating in your mind but I'm not afraid, I know who I married, so long as you come home at the end of the day that would be enough" both of you sat down on a bench and looked at each other, "we don't need a legacy" you said, he looked away slightly before you got his attention again "we don't need money, if I could grant you peace of mind, if you could let me inside your heart, oh let me be apart of the narrative! In the story they will write someday, let this moment be the first chapter where you decide to stay! And I could be enough, and we can be enough, and that would be enough" you sighed, he hugged you and did you just notice the tears falling from his face. was he this happy from having a child? Yes.
